Valentine's Day in my area is commonly known as the day of love, when people buy gifts for their loved ones, friends, or partners. It is a day that is highly celebrated in my part of the country. It is the moment that people go out with their partners for a treat, take pictures, and even showcase their partners and the gifts received from them on their WhatsApp status.

Apparently! I was not in the mood for Valentine yesterday, and I did not go out with anyone. I was just home all day doing God knows what; I can't remember, but I spent part of the day on the HL Podcast, and from there, I started reading some courses at school.
My every day Val was not around, and she has travelled away from school, so giving physical gifts was not really feasible, but somehow I got a surprise Valentine's Day gift. I sent my pearl, a message for Val, to let her know my love is beyond the season, whether Val or not. I really did wish she was around; we would have gone out on a date and had a nice time together.
Then later in the day, I got a call from a delivery man who delivered food to me from one of my regular online vendors with a Happy Valentine's message. My first thought was that it would have been my pearl that sent it, but when I asked the delivery man, he said it was from Delightsome (the online vendor's name). Wow! I was surprised as to which online vendor would give out free food to their customers on Valentine's Day.
Immediately, I made up my mind that I would stay loyal and order very often from delightsome. This order came when I was on the HL Podcast, which apparently affected my internet connection, but so far it was food that came in, and I was fine!
I took some pictures, and sent them to Pearl to see what I got from delightsome and then I asked her again if there was any possibility that she did it, but she said NO, she wasn't. It was later that she confessed that it was not delightsome but that it was her who ordered the food to be delivered to my address.

It was Cameroon rice and chicken, which tasted very delicious. I really enjoyed the food, as I had not eaten anything through the day before the food was delivered.
That was how I got Valentine's Day gifts from Pearl, and I didn't even plan anything for her. Not too long ago, a friend of mine mistakenly loaded airtime on his line worth 5000 naira, and he needed to convert it to cash. I easily told him to send 3000 naira worth of airtime to Pearl as my little Val gift.
From midnight on, Pearl and I had over a 3-hour call on WhatsApp talking about random things, how much we had missed each other, and future plans. It was a very interesting, long conversation. This was how my Val day went.
