Travel can be a way to experience true fun by discovering new places, meeting new people, and trying new activities. Whenever I get some oppurtunity, I never miss out on going for some trips. Sometime I even went out for solo trips. What I like most about such travel trips is that, Travel can help us think from a broader perspective by immersing us in a different environment with new people and perspectives. Travel also help us to learn more about ourself by how we handle the new issues and opportunities that we encounter. Last few years I have not been to any trips but I know, I desperately needed a short one soon. My last trip that I made was around a years back, around 28 Oct'23 Me along with my cousion went to Puri The beach city in India.
Puri is a famous city in Odisha, India. Puri has been a religious centre and pilgrimage location for hindus sunce ages. The best time to visit Puri is between October to February when the weather is pleasant and cool. It is known for its wide, clean, and sunny beach. The other reason it is popular is due to presence of Jaganath Temple. The world's largest Vishnu temple, built in the 12th century by King Ananta Varman Chodaganga Deva. The temple is known for its Kalinga architecture, and the flag that flies above the main spire seems to fly in the opposite direction of the wind.
Travelling to Puri, offers a wide range of an unforgettable experience that offers a mix of culture, spirituality, and natural beauty. While most of the people visit tye place to offer their prayers to Lord Jaganath. At the same time they do not miss out on enjoying the beach. Puri's beaches are known for their scenic beauty, especially at sunrise and sunset. The long stretch of golden sand and rhythmic waves create a serene atmosphere. I remember spending hours taking inside the water. It was there we witness an accident when boy in drunken state drowned in the water. While people have different meant to enjoy, people do came with some bad means to spoil their travel time. We happen to enjoy some local delicies as well as coconut water.
Our travel experience to the place was not sort of fun and adventure. It was a sudden plan with no preparation in place. We went out looking for a train travel but finally ended up with road trip. We boarded a AC busses at night that reached Puri in early wee hours. The atmosphere was quite buzzing since the moment we stepped into the city. A divine experince awaiting us with people can be seen chanting in the street. There a lot of devotees who were thronging towards the temple. The city showcase a unique blend of spirituality, vibrant culture, and stunning beaches, highlighting the iconic Jagannath Temple, the bustling Rath Yatra festival, the serene Puri Beach, and the nearby attractions like Chilika Lake were the main attraction.
Puri is not a big city. The only prominent market is the one along the Jagannath Temple area. You will find ample rush at any moment of the day. But the rush does leave some fine imprint of local culture and lifestyle. There were number of roadside stalls selling delicoes or artefacts. The colorful set up will definitely makes you to buy some.
At night the crowded beach turns into a happening market place. Many small shops comes up and entire are illuminate making it a lively place.
There were so many things to explore. I happen to spend 2 days and never had any dull moment. Beach, temple, people culture keep us occupied. It is an interesting place and alwsys fell short of time to explore more. I had plan to visit again this hear, however cyclone Dana is postponing the plan. Hope I will make it to the place sooner.
