Every economy of this world can be identified through it's currency. A currency is must thing to run a nation. India uses Rupees as Indian curency, while America use Dollor as their currency and likewise there are others Every country have their specific currencies for proper economic function. Currency is a National symbol.
Whenever we travel to other nation, we can make use of their urrency rather than own currency. It is important to understand, some basics about currencies.
What is Currency and How it works.
To bring uniformity in buying goods or services within a country we need a common denomination. This denomination helps in identifying the value / worth of the goods and services. A currency acts as an intermediary and is necessary to perform as a common denominator. Currency serves as a means of exchanging goods and services.
Money in the form of paper or coins, issued by a government and accepted at face value, is known as currency.
In earlier times, goods and services were exchanged directly for other goods and services. This system of exchanging were termed as "barter system". With yhe passage of time Currency has replaced 'bartering' syatem as the primary means of exchanging goods and services in the modern world. Every currency notes or coins always bear a face.

Why Currency has human faces?
If you ever notices every currency of the world bears a face of a famous human personality. It is not as this is a modern practices, but the practices of depicting faces on money date back thousands of years. In sarlier times, every ruler had introduced money in their kingdom with their face printed on it. Through this they were endorsing that currency and backing up their rule their region.
In modern times, Currencies are the sign of a country’s sovereignty. The sovereignty is often reflected by leaders who have played a significant role in the countrys freedom struggle. For example, Pakistan’s currency features its founding father Mohammad Ali Jinnah and China’s features Mao Zedong.
The two currencies that I am aware of without pictures of identifiable people are Hong Kong dollar notes, and Euro notes.
This might lead people to question
Why only Human faces ?
When,a country can be known for other thing, like heritage site or building, arts or other unique identity the why only human faces were used on the currency notes.?
It is to be noted that, human faces are deemed less susceptible to forgery than other inanimate objects.
By putting pictures of great people on national currency notes, we are honoring and commemorating their contributions to society or their country. It also serves as a reminder of their legacy and accomplishments, and reinforces the values and ideals that they represented in the generstion to comes by.

About our Currency
Being a native of India, our currency notes features the face of Mahatma Gandhi. He is a renowned figure all over the world and considered to played significant role in India's freedom struggle.
As the Father of the Nation, he might seem an obvious choice to have appeared on the national currency after the formation of independent India in 1947. But it was many decades after, only in 1996, that he became a permanent feature on legal banknotes of every denomination issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
It was obvious that Mahatma Gandhi was the unanimous choice for his contribution to the nation. However, over the years, there have be calls to feature different personalities on the currency notes. From lord Ganesha to Goddess Lakshmi to Poet Rabindranath Tagore to Nuclear scitist and ex president APJ Abdul Kalam. But the symbolism and significance of Mahatma Gandhi remain unwavering.
There seems to be a limited explanation on why no other public figure featured on the currency notes.

My Choice of Currency Face.
Given me an oppurtunity to choose the face on Indian currency, my vote will goes to Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar
India march to independence was not orchestrated by a single human being. There are many freedom fighter apart from Mahatma Gandhi who made significant role in India's freedom struggle. Many died at young age, while many loses their life showing valor for the country. Naming one individual and leaving other would do injustice to their contributions.
I am sure many few people are not aware about Dr. B.R Ambedkar. But he is known as "father of our constitution". He was the highly educated indian economist of all time. What else could be a better way to show respect commeosrste the man who made people to live free. He was one sets out the fundamental rights, the directive principles and duties of citizen. Today we living on all the framework set by him and this is good to let people know of his contribution.
His contribution is very significant and unmatchable in setting up of a democratic nation.
