Just like the other principles we make and keep in life and lifestyles, living a decent life has nothing to do with being a proud 🥲 person. I grow up around an uncle who uses this “slogan” as often as I could remember because he believers that having money 💰 is not the factor to living a clean and decent lifestyle. This uncle of mine is my father’s junior brother who struggled to work himself to a place he never expected as a principal of a top Secondary School 🏫 in those days, but every weekend he goes back to the village from the city 🌆, ending up in his farms to properly align things there by himself.
And I could also remember how my mother use to sweep the compound where we live almost three times a day even when the dry leaves 🍁 has not fallen to litter the environment because she has the OCD for cleanliness which I emulated from her. She will clean her goat 🐐 ban as if humans wants to sleep in it. This is called lifestyles that has been inculcate by a person over a period of time and can never go away because its a mindset.
Cleanliness is not something that has to do with wealth or being rich because being decent both physically and morally is a personal decision we make in life, which either was impacted in us through discipline while we were growing up or was emulated from those around us which is an environmental factor.
Although money 💰 and being rich is one factor we feel that can make people who fails under the category live a very clean and decent lifestyle, but its so surprising that those under this category are not living a hygienic lifestyle as we think 💭. This means that this ideology is vise versa . Wealth does not mean cleanliness because I have seen many rich people whom when you see them outside, they look properly dressed, but e when you get to their houses, you can not even accept a glass of water from them.
Decency and cleanliness are not laundering our clothes, buying the most costliest perfumes, carrying the best designer bags, but how we look neat both inside and outside of our environment. There are so many wealthy people who can not organize their environment properly even with all the money they have. Living a clean decent life is a thing you can not purchase from the market. Its a mindset made from principles of how we chose to live our lifestyle. It does not have to do with what we have as savings but the values we put to our surroundings, our physical look and appearance, how we discipline ourselves and most of all, how we can maximize the little we have to cut cost.
Have you visited some rich families whose children can not bath 🧼 properly? Not that there is no bathing soap or water, but because of their parents are not paying attention to their up bringing. All they do is provide all the whole food and every provision for this children, but they can not attend to them to clean up properly. Its sad to see things like this because we always believe that money answers everything.
A friend of my who once came back from London visited us on a weekend and saw how I cleaned and lined up my children shoes outside for sun ⛅️ to hit them up to properly dry them and avoid them to smell. She was so attracted to the system, saying what a hygienic way to protect and preserve children foot wears . These are the little details we miss if we don’t pay attention.
Its better we properly take care of those things we have so they can last longer and not just leave them to spoil because we feel we have money to purchase and replace them 💯 times. I see good hygiene as something we build within ourselves no matter what ever level we find ourselves in. A trader who chooses to be clean in lifestyle can maintain one shirt , washing it every night for the next , while some rich people with more shirts will wear and repeat them severely with body odor everywhere. Its a thing of mindset. Those who has little will always try to maintain then those who has more.
However we know the saying that money answers everything, like good cars, good houses to live in, several good skincare, designers and more, but this does not guarantee that those who are rich maintain more hygiene then those that are not rich 🤑. Have you seen attitude of some rich wealthy people? Its horrible. We know these things , its just that money rules the world 🌎 , but I believe that neatness exist independent of wealthy.
