I have tried so hard to post the tasks early but work always gets in the way. I'm not late but I still feel I should've been earlier.
I want everybody reading this to know I'm really trying my best to stay active, I work shifts and come back exhausted but my teacher @hopestylist has urged me to create a time table for engagement even if it means waking up earlier than I usually do. I don't take for granted this opportunity and I'll work harder.
That being said, let's get back to the task. I missed the lecture again but I've gone through the video recording and I'm ready to make my post.
The first question is;
How has been your experience with Hive since you joined?
I think I started being active when the @comedyopenmic hosted the Comedy Rumble. It was a competition to give all comedians a chance to be funny for a prize at the end.
The first thing I realized on hive was everybody is super nice. If you're ever feeling down and need a boost of confidence, just log into hive. Everybody here knowsleo how to encourage and I found that very welcoming.
I didn't understand a lot of things on hive. I had been a crypto enthusiast but hive was my first contact with a social media platform built on a Blockchain, trust the hivelearners community and @leofinance to come through. Hive learners taught me how to navigate through hive as a newbie and even before the newbies initiative task, the community taught the do's and don'ts of hive. @leofinance taught there was more to hive than just writing content and engagements.
All these combined gave me an insight to what we should really be as hivers. I've learnt alot from hive and it's not just crypto related, there are a bunch of communities to learn from, even when I need something new to watch, there's a community that gives suggestions and reviews.
There are also a bunch of crazy talented people here, combine that with how nice they are are we have ourselves a recipe for excitement.
My experience so far has been a great one because I have been encouraged so many times than I can remember and hive helps you stay educated while being entertained at the same time. It doesn't look like I'd be leaving anytime soon.
I think I speak for almost everyone when I say hive has been good to us and we love it.
The second question is;
Why is Plagiarism Frowned Upon on Hive?
Plagiarism means posing someone's content as your own. Stealing is what I would call it and hive being as sophisticated as it is will not be associated with stealing of any kind.
Hive wants original content because not only does it is yours but it helps you improve as a writer. Posting original content also helps you learn. When you do your research, you learn. When you write your own content, you learn and develop yourself as a writer.
Plagiarism is bad and is frowned upon almost everywhere. Put yourself in the shoes of someone being plagiarised, would you want someone else to take credit for a content you worked hard to create or write?
This is why plagiarism is frowned upon on hive. It is taking credit for someone else's work. Hive wants original content and almost every community would tell you if you're using a sentence from someone's work, it is important to quote them and always make a direct link to the source of the pictures you use in your posts.
Explain why the use of tags is very important on Hive
Tags are very important on hive because it makes your post visible to the appropriate parties.
Let me use something most people are already used to. When using the YouTube search engine, each video made has tags that help them pop up when someone searches for a particular niche.
It's the same thing with hive, when we use tags, we help the appropriate communities and curators find out posts easily. Knowing there right tags to use in your post is very important because it helps your reach the appropriate audience and curators looking for post to create using the search engine. Sometimes, we often make mistakes using the wrong tags in a post. For example, we make a comedy posts and use the "leofinance" without that post having anything related to finance. The comedy post and the leofinance community have nothing in common.
There are are general tags to use in your post to reach a wide audience and there are some exclusive tags only for certain communities. This brings me to the last question;
List some general tags you know on Hive. Explain the difference between these tags
Some of the general tags I a aware of are:
- Hive
- Vyb
- Neoxian
- Gems
- Proofofbrain
- Palnet
The difference between the general tag isn't much, we can use the proofofbrain tag in our post because our post are a proof we have a brain😅 as the name implies. The hive tag can be used generally because all posts done here are done on the hive Blockchain so it is allowed.
Generally, these tags can be used because they are related to almost any type of content.
As I stated before, there are exclusive tags , I'll give an example. Supposing you're making a movie review in the movie community, you're not expected to use "hl-exclusive". If even says it from the name, Hive Learners exclusive or you uses hl-w33e1 for a comedy post. It's not done that way.
When posting in a particular community, do your research, read the rules and find out what tags you are allowed to use there.
I hope I've been able to answer all questions effectively. That's if from me in the second task of the newbies intiative program.
A special thanks to @hive-learners and the @newbies-hive for the opportunity to be part of the initiative, @starstrings01 and @samostically ..a special thanks to my teacher @hopestylist for the push and availability, I don't take your efforts for granted. To the curators @theycallmedan and @aliento, I say thank you.
Thanks for taking your time to read this, it's all love from my part.
