It is true when people use to say everyday cannot be like Christmas, it is one special day set aside for the Christian to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and I do remember how they use to tell us stories of how Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a manger and how the 3 wise men visit him with 3 special gifts and we will start singing lot of Christmas songs in our mother's language, they still do it up till now and I do love it. I'm not a kid anymore but I always look forward to the Christmas carol aspect because I am an instrumentalist (Trumpet) and this period we will be preparing songs to render on Christmas eve but let us leave the church aspect and come back to the street.
Christmas celebration on the street aspect is like another dimension, something that will forever be in memory, one thing we would love to see everyday because the joyous celebration is unexplainable, This is the time firecrackers always reign, in my area, you will only see firecrackers during christmas and new year season and we use to rush the sellers because we always want to boast to our friends especially if we have 5 sound or more, they will keep following use up and down asking use to give them one out of it.

There is this day I woke up in the middle of the night around 12:30pm because of firecrackers noise and decide to just step outside because there was light and what I saw was so suprising, our house vs the 3 house away was doing a firecracker battle, through it from one house to another like a challenge and every one will run inside, It was fun though until it enter my dad shirt pocket, I laughed that day.
The one thing I do look forward to during christmas is the family reunion part where most of my family member always show up at the family house in our hometown, it is one thing we do look forward too, we all will travel from our various destination and meet at the family house, we use that to opportunity to greet and communicate physically and we the children get to meet our cousins and other family members. The food part is always my favourite because they always make pounded yam and Isapa soup

The Isapa soup is make from White zobo or hibiscus leaves with a mixture of egusi soup but they have a way of cooking it because if not well-cooked, you wont love it. This is my favorite food combo because I rarely see it around talk less of eating it all the time. So anytime we go home, I always get to eat it. Christmas this year is really looking somehow already and I'm not seeing any sign if we will be travelling this time around, any way it wont be bad celebrating alone at home with a little touch of enjoyment
