One thing I really desist and always pray not to experience is power outage, like complete blackout, right from the onset before I started my crypto/ remote work journey, I was somehow use to the blackout I do experience in our town mainly because there is nothing i want to use light for except to watch movies and it can always wait and once I have my power bank fully charged, I don't have to worry for days since my phone is always on ultra power mood which do help me reserve my phone battery life and make it really last for days, there are times I do feel or get pained due to blackout those days and that was because of the heat we do feel at night when we want to sleep, heat is one thing I don't like at all because I sweat easily and I will somehow be restless, so most time I can shower 2-3 times in the midnight or at times I will use a big thick towel as my pillow but I always make sure I power water inside the towel to make it wet, then place my head on it, it always serve as my artificial brain coolants and I do sleep well overnight and in the morning the towel will be hot or warm.
When I started the online journey, I find it hard to stay in any vicinity that have no light, even before going to any area my two most asked question is if there is light and network because I can easily get bored when both are unavailable, this made me decide to move to Lagos where there is stable light. My gadget are always full and my fan is always on since the light is stable. There was a day thing went really bad, it was the time of fuel scarcity, most fuel stations aren't selling except you have to start search at area far from you, so I didn't bother because at first we had stable light, we were like since there is light, WTH is fuel scarcity😂, it was as if PHCN people were purposely giving us light, then all of a day, they took the light. I thought it was a normal stuff so I didn't bother unknowing to me there is an incoming survery on the way, it was a day job which I use to do back in the days and it came at the wrong time of all days, when there is fuel scarcity and no light.
On a norms, the work is hour based payment around 12$ and I can do up to 10-12hours so I had to be with light for that day and network, I was still hoping they will bring light the next day and I can't go out to charge since I don't know anyone, the next day, the did what they love doing the most, disappointment. I was really pained and restly that day with the hope of hearing the transformer loud cry when there is light but it was false, till night, they didn't bring the light, was really pained because I couldn't work, my phone also die and I had to keep sleeping and wake up till I eventually give up that day and lost what I should have earn, since then I never pray for such situation again and if such happen, I will always make sure I get a place to always charge my gadgets.
