Today's topic on Hive Learners is a very current and controversial subject, as I see someone bringing up this discussion every week and it increasingly generates questions rather than answers. The use of cell phones by students, since AI is more present in our lives and consequently an extra arm to teach the student in the classroom. Yes, an arm, not a brain, after all, it often gives inconclusive or wrong answers without intending to do so, often due to poorly executed prompts, often because it has not yet been trained to resolve that specific situation.
And what about the situation of prohibiting or allowing students to use it? After all, prohibiting something is never the solution, because prohibition generates adrenaline and young people and teenagers seek this all the time, so they will be interested in making use, even if hidden, of something that is being prohibited, often by a government entity, through a law or a prohibitive decree.
In my view, teachers need to help children use AI. in the classroom, and teach them how to execute the best prompt and how to validate the information given to them. Because that student who is still in training and is learning how to use AI will perform better in the future than the one who was banned and who, when he reaches adulthood, will have access to it and will have to face all the obstacles that his opponent already faced in his youth, which makes the already very unequal 'meritocracy' even more unequal, since we will once again be distancing the bases and then looking for policies on how to attract them in adulthood.
Education is constantly evolving, and it should be encouraged and not reprimanded. But how can teachers teach students how to use it in the best way, if they don't even know how to use it? Many teachers are in the age range of over 40 or 50 years old, and barely know how to deal with computer or smartphone technology and end up using it only to look at photos of friends, funny videos or chat on messaging apps.
So should public policy encourage both students and teachers? Should a subject be included in the school curriculum in which the teacher sits down with the student to learn? I know that the ego would never allow this, and they would first hold a class with only the teachers and then these teachers would teach the students, but often the doubts of a teacher are the same as those of a student, after all, sometimes it is something new for both and it makes no sense to segregate teaching since it can be multiplied.
And as mentioned at the beginning of the text, this discussion raises more questions than answers, and I cannot tell you which is the best direction we should follow to resolve this issue. I am simply bringing more points to the debate, so that we can increasingly qualify it, and then find a solution in which the answer is the improvement of learning and education.

O tópico de hoje da Hive Learners é um assunto bem atual e controverso, pois vejo semanalmente alguém trazendo essa discussão a tona e cada vez mais gera perguntas e não respostas. O uso de celular por alunos, uma vez que a I.A. está mais presente em nossas vidas e consequentemente um braço a mais para ensinar o aluno em sala. Sim um braço, não um cérebro, afinal, muitas vezes ela entrega respostas inconclusivas, ou erradas sem intenção de faze-lo, muitas vezes pelo prompt mal executado, muitas vezes porque ainda não foi treinada para resolver aquela situação específica.
E como fica a situação de proibir ou permitir o uso pelos alunos? Afinal, proibir algo nunca é a saída, pois a proibição gera adrenalina e os jovens e adolescentes buscam por isso o tempo todo, então estarão interessados em fazer uso, mesmo que escondido, de algo que está sendo proibido, muitas vezes por um ente estatal, através de uma lei ou um decreto proibitivo.
Na minha visão o professor precisa auxiliar as crianças para o uso de I.A. na sala de aula, e ensina-las como executar o melhor prompt e como fazer a validação da informação que lhe é entregue. Pois aquele aluno que ainda está em formação e está aprendendo como utilizar a I.A. no futuro terá um melhor desempenho do que aquele que foi proibido e que ao chegar na fase adulta terá acesso, e terá que enfrentar todos os obstáculos que seu adversário já enfrentou na juventude, o que torna ainda mais desigual a já muito desigual 'meritocracia', uma vez que estaremos mais uma vez distanciando as bases para depois procurarmos políticas de como atrai-las na fase adulta.
A educação está em constante evolução, e ela deve ser estimulada e não repreendida. Porém de que maneira os professores ensinaram os alunos a como usa-la da melhor maneira, se nem eles sabem como usar? Muitos professores estão na faixa de idade acima dos 40 ou 50 anos, e mal sabem lidar com a tecnologia de um computador ou um smartphone e acabam usando apenas para ver fotos de amigos, vídeos engraçados ou conversar em aplicativos de mensagens.
Será que então a política pública deve ser estimular tanto o aluno quanto o professor? Ser colocada na grade curricular das escolas uma matéria em que o professor senta junto com o aluno para aprender? Eu sei que o ego nunca permitiria isso, e fariam primeiro uma aula apenas com os professores e depois esses professores ensinarem para os alunos, mas muitas vezes as dúvidas de um professor são as mesmas de um aluno, afinal, por vezes é algo novo para ambos e não faz sentido a segregação de um ensino uma vez que ele pode ser multiplicado.
E como mencionado no início do texto, essa discussão traz mais perguntas do que respostas, e eu não saberei te dizer qual a melhor direção devemos seguir para resolver essa questão. Apenas trago mais pontos para o debate, para que possamos cada vez mais qualifica-lo, e então encontrarmos uma solução em que a resposta seja a melhora do aprendizado e da educação.
