Having a moral code can be really good and help keep us in check through the years. As it can go on to be a principle that we live by and help guide how we deal with life or interact with people, and in the end, it helps foster deeper bonding and understanding with people. I have a moral code I live by, and regardless of how bad things are, I try as much as possible to always stand by it because I believe it's a good thing and life is too short to be self-centered.
Through the years, I've made friends with people or come across some with whom we've had some sort of conversation, and they told me that regardless of what happens or what life throws towards them, they'll never do certain things. While I believe them, it's unfortunate to see that some of them have literally gone outside their moral code out of a quest to amaze wealth, be influential, and the like. This isn't a good thing, in my opinion, although change is a constant thing to see. But even if one should change, it should be for good, not from good to bad.
Personally, I've got loads of moral code I live by, but the one I think stands tallest or highest for me is my act of always being ready to share helpful tips, information, and updates with all of my network of friends. I'm the kind of person who, although I have just a handful of friends, doesn't like a situation where I'm in a better position while my friends are lacking, and so because of that, each time I come across helpful information or tops, I try as much as possible to carry my network of friends along so they can as well benefit from such.
In my short time on earth, I've met some people who have the total opposite of my moral code, which means they hide updates or information from others. This kind of amazes me a lot, and it's one thing I really don't like in a person: when I notice you're the type who's self-centered and tends to have information that can benefit a lot of people, yet you hold on to it so you'll be the one to benefit from it, I try to keep my distance from such people because I'll be pained knowing someone I called my friend as helpful information but refuses to share with me.
The way I see life is that money and opportunity are everywhere, and sharing tips with everyone gives them an opportunity to try their luck in such things, if it benefits them fine and if it didn't, it's also fine, because I've played my part, but having helpful information that can elevate many and holding onto it isn't my kind of person, and I'm certain all of my friends can affirm the fact that I don't see a helpful thing that can benefit them and yet chose not to share, because I want to have it all to myself.
This is a moral code I've had for a long time, and the few helps and opportunities I've gotten from friends and complete strangers cement this in me, and regardless of what it's, I'll try as much as possible to let the information go through to everyone I know, because I believe life isn't sweet when you're the only millionaire or billionaire among your league of friends; life is more pleasant and enjoyable when you and your network of friends are on the same page.
On a few occasions, it escapes my mind to tell some of my friends about information I feel can help them, and even though they get angry sometimes, the misunderstanding quickly dies down because they know I'll never intentionally do such, as I'm the type of person who has shared helpful information with them even when they didn't ask me for any.
