Down the years, I've had different memories and experiences of different happenings in my life, and while reminiscing on a funny experience to write on for the hive learners prompt, I was finding it hard to remember any until this particular one came to mind. This is a story of my petty secondary school trade that helps me earn a penny, but the avenue via which I earned it is somewhat cunning and funny.

Growing up, I had uncles with whom I stayed alongside my grandmother; one of them had about three girlfriends, while the other had just one girlfriend. They were usually annoying with their behavior towards me and how they sent me on errands whenever their girlfriend was around, but I soon found a way to benefit from their relationship when I indulged in business in school.
If you're familiar with Nigerian secondary school in my days, you'll know we've got some big boys and girls who don't buy the idea of writing notes whenever teachers are writing on the board, but when it comes to time when we all ought to submit our notes to the teacher, they find away stealing other people's notes until we all became wise and started writing our names in almost every corner of our notes, so stealing and covering evidence seems harder, and that made them sort of pay for others to help them write notes.
When some of them were looking for someone to write on their behalf and get paid in return, most of them approached me because I've got good handwriting, and that's one of the key criteria teachers consider when awarding marks for writing notes. Since it's an opportunity for each, I quickly accepted, though the number of pages I'm writing determines how much I'll charge them. Most were willing to pay, so I took all the deals, and now I'm left with how to write all those notes.
Making deals was easy, as was taking part in payments, but doing the job seems like a difficult task. On one of such occasions, when I was writing the note, one of my uncle's girlfriends came around, and I asked if she could help me with the note. She quickly obliged, seeing it as an opportunity to be loved by one of my family members.

Seeing how that worked out, I immediately made it a point of duty to engage all my uncle's girlfriends in the activity of helping me write notes. Most of them thought I'm the owner of the note they are writing, since the notes are usually new and I don't write names on them until I'm done and ready to give them to the actual owner. That act made me complete notes on time, and before I knew it, other students in the commercial and art departments heard about me and also brought their notes.
Although that means the bus is moving, it also smells dangerous because these ladies know I'm in science class and not in commercials or art. Well, I found out by lying to them that I misplaced the person's note, and our teacher assigned me the duty of writing back the lost note. All of them believe me and continually write notes for me whenever my uncles aren't around and they come visiting, some of them even though they took those notes home to write and bring them back when they're done.
Danger started looming when I started giving them new notes to write, and such notes happened to be ones they'd written before. That raised their eyes, and some of them began to question how careless I was to be losing my books consistently. On one of such occasions, two of them, on separate occasions, told my uncles to be more conscious with how I take care of my books because they'd helped me write a particular note, and all of a sudden, I lost it and am now writing the same note again.
My uncle got angry and decided to search my bag to find out how true that was, and I knew I was in trouble if he knew the truth. Fortunately for me, all my books that were brought to me before the term were intact; none went missing, and after he crossed check behind the one who brought them, he said he told his girlfriend that my books were intact, and then he asked whose note I was writing. I had to stick with the previous lie that I misplaced someone's note, and the school tasks me with the responsibility of rewriting it.
My uncle brought the lies, but the lady knows I've tricked her down over the years, but she has no point in saying much. I knew that was the end of my act of using them to write a note I was paid to write. It was a very funny experience to see how cunning I was at that tender age, using someone else to do a job I'm paid to do, and yet I don't give them a dime from my earnings.
