Oh, how fast time has passed! It was just like yesterday that we were excited about last year's December, celebrating Christmas, and much more, and here we're again in another December of another year. Without those days and reminiscing on those periods, I can't help but be grateful for how far I've come, and today I'll love to share some of the milestones I've had between those timespans.
Like I said, it's been a long time since last December until this very moment. Ordinary looking back, it seems as though I haven't experienced much change, and that's kind of normal when we fail to be grateful for the little drops of blessings we get. So after critical thinking and reminiscing, I was able to conclude that I've had loads of things to be grateful for in my life between those timespans, and they're as follows:
Determination and willingness to achieve my goals: one of the core things I've noticed about myself that wasn't really there as of last December was the ability to stay determined and be willing to go the extra mile to achieve my goals, and that could also be traced to me not pinning down my goals, but after some failures from last year, I took the approach of learning from my failure, finding out what's the cause, and making amends.
And now, reminiscing on those past few months that are between now and December, I can't help but be grateful that goal setting and determining mindset made it possible to achieve whatever I laid my mind on, and this has given me an opportunity to take this into account moving forward: if truly I want to achieve something, then I must lay it out and do everything possible to achieve it, regardless of how enormous or impossible it seems to be.
One of those milestones is highlighted below:
- I set up a goal last December in one of the hive learners prompts to achieve at least 6k hive power by the end of this year, starting the year with just 2352 hp, and that seems impossible. I stuck to my goals, and now I'm just 50 hp away from 7k hp, which means I've exceeded my goal by 1k extra hive power.
- I also wanted to blog and power up one hive every single day in 2023, and that seemed like an impossible goal because of the nature of my job, but despite loads of challenges and steps back that came my way, I stood firm, and I'm still in line with that goal.
- I remember getting tired of the unstable electricity distribution and how it has affected my work and the time I get to come online on the hive blockchain, and I thought about buying maybe a generator or a solar panel. In the end, I opted for a solar panel because it's much better and doesn't need much continuous maintenance or fueling. During the course of the year, I was able to purchase the solar panels despite it costing almost 300k naira, and now I've got 24/7 electricity regardless of whether they gave us electricity or not.
- Earlier this year, I laid out a goal to purchase a new smartphone and a PC so I could improve my potential to become a better content creator, and despite my inability to buy a PC, I've at least been able to purchase a better smartphone, which is far better than my former one. That almost made me fall short of some of my goals during the course of this year because of how bad it was.
- Moving forward, I also laid down a goal to change my house furniture by getting new sofas and tables, and as we speak, I've been able to achieve that as well. It's quite exciting because, if I were to put it into words, all I've been able to acquire within the year is way over a million naira, and yet my gross income from my offline job isn't even up to a million naira in a year. I'm grateful for the growth and success.
There are several others I didn't state here, but I believe this is enough to be grateful and thankful for the fact that there has been significant improvement in my life over the past few months.
That's about it for now. I hope you enjoyed the read, have a wonderful day ahead, and stay blessed.
