Money answers all things

There was this boy I knew very well from when he was small, he is called Chinedu, he is my childhood friend, we like ourselves so much, daddy Chinedu is a farmer and there is into buy and selling of pepper and tomatoes.to cut the story short they were not rich at all, they were living on hand to mouth and everybody around them knows that, people in my area always mock them because of their lifestyle. I must say this, I love Chinedu's family so much and this is the reason.
They don't take life so hard, they are very accommodating and kind as well though they are illiterate but Chinedu and I are attending the same school, I mean my secondary schoolmate that time .when you are looking for me, please go and check Chinedu's house, I am saying this just to let you know our level of closeness. Let me say it this way, we can't actually do without each other, there is no day we won't come see ourselves.
Chinedu has this behavior of which I know very well, and I can't deny it, he likes stealing his parent money, sometimes the parents don't know about it .it is not that he uses the money for food, but he constantly uses the money to play gambling (bet 9ja), he has been doing that for more than a year, and he has not won any game, I as a friend usually tell him to stop the gambling lifestyle that will never take him anywhere, he would be saying don't worry I definitely change. I kept quiet about the issue, and we continued our friendship.
One man's food is another man's poison, Chinedu's lucky day came for him at last that I was pleased and excited to be his friend after all the mockeries here and there, this was what happened exactly, one faithful afternoon, after we had come back from school, Chinedu came to me and said I should please follow him to bet 9ja shop to try his luck, at the first place I refused but because I liked him so much I later followed him, we got there then he selected the game that he wants to play, thereafter, he was given a bet slip which he took along with him while we were going back home .we were almost getting his house when we heard his dad ranting saying “I will kill Chinedu today "he was saying it repeatedly, and I was like what is going on, I later got to know that Chinedu stole his money and that was what he used in playing the bet9ja gambling game. The dad told him that he should not step his legs into his house, what are we going to do now? That was the question, I was asking myself, so we decided to hang around because we believed that before we got to even time the issues would have been calmed, and we use the opportunity to pleas for forgiveness. That was our initial plan that afternoon.
While we were still hanging around, I quickly reminded Chinedu that he should let us go to the bet9ja shop to check the result, he said that was true, on getting there, lo and behold, we saw people shouting “this is not possible” when they saw us, the people shouted Chinedu how did you do it, already Chinedu was still confused because he did not know what was going on.to cut the story short he was told he won 18 million Naira with just 500 Naira , everywhere was like rapture has taken place .we were pleased to hear the good news.
Chinedu ordered drinks for people, asked them to buy what they wanted, things just changed about Chinedu , while we were still celebrating the dad came, and he said to Chinedu , “come my good son, I knew that you will make me proud some day and the day has come "I was shocked this was the same man who said he is going to kill his son .well, I was speechless.
Money answers everything, and that is the power of what money can do. Chinedu , his dad and I went home together that very day, but throughout that day he was being praised consistently.
I won't lie Chinedu gave me some money too but as time went we could not manage our friendship because his character started changing, and I could not bear it anymore, I don't to be that person that goes around his rich friends because of money, after going our separate ways, it was not more than 1 year I heard they left for another state.
Money really changes people.
