Christmas is here guys, it’s finally here. In less than 13 hours, it’ll be officially the 25th of December. The birth day of Christ and the one who’s being celebrated.
Every year on this day many many people have different plans on how to celebrate this occasion. Some people go to church and after that return home to feast. Others do not go home after church but decide to go for outdoor events.
There are a lot of things people do. Christmas has become such that almost everyone in one way or the other celebrates it. Even if you do not celebrate, there’s something you do around this festive period that will kind of be in line with the Xmas spirit.
Christmas is all about family when you speak to a lot of people about it. It’s the time of the year where people travel far and beyond to meet their loved ones and create special memories.
What’s this world without memories? What’s an event or occasion without memories? And certainly what’s Christmas without memories?🤔
Although I don’t celebrate Christmas, a lot of my friends from childhood were Christians and so on days like 25th of December we would try to create memories when they come back from church.
When I sit back and remember those days I miss them a lot and would really love to see and spend time with them again.
This particular memory I will be talking about is a bitter sweet one but then when I think about Christmas it’s the first thing that comes to mind. It’s also because it has left a mark on me. Literally!! 😂
So what happened 7 years ago on Christmas? As usual my friends prepared for church service to begin their celebrations. But on the eve of Christmas, we’d always blow fire crackers which we call “knockout” here. Dumb me doesn’t know if knockout is the general name or crackers is fine. 🤷🏾♂️ 😅

There are things you do from your childhood that stick with you and this is something that has stuck with me. To blow knockout on the Eve of Christmas. I know it’s disturbing to our folks but what’s life without a little mischief😈 . I went to town today and made a purchase of a fire cracker to use for today as a way to stay in touch with my guys.
We agreed to use up the rest of our knockout and enjoying ourselves. Till date I don’t know how it happened but before I realized, one of the crackers came straight at my face.
I got scared and before I knew, it struck my face. It left a scar on my face and till date it’s still there. It’s not a very visible scar but it can be seen.
On the left of my face just below my eye, if you look closely you can see a black mark. A few of my friends know have seen this scar.
This hasn’t stopped me though and I’ve still continued with our tradition. But there’s no way I’m using a cracker again on the day of Christmas. It’s the Eve or nothing😁😂.
Thank you.
