Hi everyone!!! Slowly every week comes and it is always accompanied by new tasks to work on, so when a new week comes it means another task, currently I feel like the words week and task are relative.
It's the fourth task of the newbies initiative and in this task, we were asked to talk about Tribal tokens, Tags, and the process involved in the buying and selling of tokens using the hive engine.
I joined the tutorial late so I did not get the whole teaching from the beginning, I think it's because of situations like this that we were given team leaders, I'm glad I have a team leader thats easily accessible, someone I can always go to when I'm in a tight spot.
So I'm here to talk about this topic with the understanding I got when my team leader explained it, so if peradventure I don't get certain things correctly, please "blame it on" Well I don't know if it's my fault though but then"thinking" okay I've decided just blame it on me for not meeting up the tutorial on time, lessons learned "always be available for tutorials".
What are tags?
We use these in all our posts, so there must be a reason why we use them right? I'm here to tell you about them "Fear no more behold I have come" Tags are also known as topics, some frontends call them topics "When I first saw it I was confused" Others call them tags but then it means the same thing. Tags make our post be seen by the right audience or should I say by the right community. For instance, I made a crochet project and used the tag DIY when other authors search for DIY projects my post is gonna pop up cause I used the tag DIY. Special note: not all community allows an author to use his/her preferred tags, some communities have some specific tags they use so when publishing in a community it is always advisable to read the community's guidelines, just like the hive learners community they tell you the first two tags to use before using your preferred tags.
Tribe Tokens
These tokens are owned by specific communities and can be earned when you interact in the community, some can be earned when you use their tags in a post like the "neoxian tag which token is neoxag" another one is the Leo token, and some can be mined while others can be tipped to an author.
Examples of Tribe token
This particular token its primary purpose is to share love on the platform, it is the !luv token, you know the part that made me love it, even more, was when the author said it was mostly used for the "single people" at the end of the post I realized he was joking but the truth remains that I've taken it serious.
The LOH token was created by the ladies of the hive community to show support to ladies when they share their amazing stories and experiences, I know some brothers wanna be ladies right now (coughs).
How to buy and sell tokens using hive-engine?
First, you log into the hive keychain app, it will require you to key in your username and your private key then you click on import."
Then you click on the globe icon, and it will take you to a place that will enable you to search for the hive-engine website.
So you click on where to search then clear whatever was there and type the hive-engine website, and it will pop up.
It will request your login details so you provide whatever details they need to ensure you log into your account.
Then you've successfully logged into your account, so you'll notice some items popped up already you click on market, you'll see different tokens pop up and the different market prices.
Then you'll see the place where you have to pick the particular token you want to sell or buy, after selecting the token you move down to insert the price and the amount of that token you want to sell or buy.
There you have successfully traded your token, good luck on trying this out.
