When typing this post, after typing the word "Hive", auto-correct provided the next suggested word as "babies". While this was a clear coincidence, it makes sense as it's only a newbie (essentially a baby) that will be craving for success, as successful people mostly crave for expansion.
So, to attain a measure of success in any system or organization put in place, someone needs to put in some work, actually, a lot of work!
I am Chukwudi Ofurum (@zestimony), and with this post, I introduce myself to the Hive Learners community and say thanks to the team behind this community for their work and support. So, without further ado, let's dive right in.
I want to summarize my suggestions on how to gain guaranteed success on the Hive ecosystem into two main related but not so related terms and one additional point:
- Seek for answers
- Ask questions
- Put in efforts
Seek for Answers"
For me, seeking answers is a bit more than simply asking questions, it's akin to researching on one's own, expending quality time and effort searching up information related to the Hive ecosystem and its Blockchain. During my first time here on Hive, I've only heard of a blockchain blogging site very similar to Steemit,Inc.,c which I was most familiar with, and I practically had no guardian to hold my hands while navigating around Hive and its ecosystem, with no one to ask questions I sought out for answers. I strongly believe that there's a whole lot of information out there and, with the right Google search, I'll have my hands on it. I not only searched Google with "Hive" at the end of each search phrase, I searched within the Hive.blog as well, and the search yielded good results. I did my introductory post and it received the appropriate amount of attention. So I knew I was on the right path. So, my point is this: always try to find answers yourself and carefully follow through on these answers.
Ask Questions
Some self-searched answers may not be sufficient, so as time goes by, you'll definitely need help from veterans. And for me, this came fairly quickly. It was pertinent that I find answers, and on this path I've been able to meet some kind people who are kind enough to give me good answers even when it seems I'm asking too much. So, don't hesitate. As long as you've got valid questions, you'll always find valid answers from the right people. I've not stopped asking and I've not stopped finding valid and reliable answers. Also noteworthy is the fact that asking questions helps you create connections, which is a vital key to survival both within and outside the blockchain.
Put in Efforts
I've noticed that, except from automatically voted contents, most of the contents that gather attention on the Hive Blockchain are those of high quality, and this is clearly a result of invested efforts, time, and creativity. Following my deep exploration and fact-searching, it became evident that low quality, scanty, and hurried content does a lot more harm than good to a user's growth and development. On the Hive blockchain, the amount of work will most often translate to the weight of reward.
Am I successful myself?
It is common to see the least successful people give success tips! It's not hypocrisy, rather, it's optimism!
I'm really working hard towards being a success. I'm researching, I'm asking questions, and I'm seeking out more opportunities.
Conclusion
I've been able to highlight the role of researching, searching, and putting in efforts to increase one's likelihood of becoming successful on the Hive blockchain. This post is a result of my conversation with some successful Hivers. It's not an exhaustive list of what needs to be done, but I guess it nails some key fundamentals.
The more I acquaint myself with the Blockchain, the more stuff I'll come up with. I'm definitely researching more and asking more questions. Hopefully, in the near future, I will be talking about other issues such as: learning and unlearning, the power of markdowns, Hive dapps, joining a curation trail, voting witnesses, delegating, and other issues that I may find useful and worth sharing.
