Introduction
As the questions keep coming, I have no options than to keep on explaining different aspects of the Hive platform to my new friends that just joined as a result of my on-boarding efforts. I normally set a goal to bring in 7 new friends every week. Am doing pretty fine on reaching the goal. Thanks so much once more @roomservice for providing the platform http://hiveonboard.com/ to create new accounts for my friends. I also thank @hivepeople for all the work they do for Hive marketing. I will update this post with a list of all the friends I have onboarded so far, check it out soon!
So in this tutorial, I will explain how to know the value of your votes.
How to know the value of your votes
There are two important elements that determine the value of your vote.
1. The HP: Your Hive power basically determines how much your vote is. The more Hive power, the higher the vote. However, there are other elements too.
The voting power: Your voting power is set by default at 100%. So if you want to know the optimal value of that HP, you vote at 100%. The more you reduce the voting power of the HP, the less the value.
The voting weight: The voting weight also works hand in hand with the voting power. The bigger it is, the bigger the value of a vote. By default, it is left at 100%.
There is a nice little tool developed by @penguinpablo which will help you calculate your voting value. It is called upvote Calculator.

Visit this web address: https://hive-now.com/upvotecalc.html and then take the folowing steps.
1. Type any amount of Hive Poer to calculate
2. Leave the Voting power at 100%. You can still reduce it just to experiment and see how the value changes.
3. Leave the Voting weight at 100%. You can still reduce it just to experiment and see how the value changes.
4. Click this button
5. This is the value of the HP at the % voting pwer and weight you set
Congratulations, you now know the value of your HP.
Thanks @hiveonboard and @roomservice for supporting newbies with help guides and new accounts.
