Last night we got hit by a largish Earthquake, I was awake at the time and I heard it first before it struck. Earthquakes are more common in NZ on a daily basis than most people realise if you don't live here. We just shrug it off, no big deal.
This one was like riding a surfboard on very small waves, but it was fairly long in duration. I knew this was a big one, but I wasn't too worried, it is the short sharp jolt type of earthquakes that always worries us.

Right now there is a Tsunami Evacuation in progress (just click on image above to see the live feed) that is happening on the top half of the country (well away from my location).
I haven't been monitoring any of this because I'm really not too concerned, my family and where I live are fine. Like I said, we're used to Earthquakes.
