This handsome young man here is my dad who's turning 85 today. So I dedicate this day to him with a little tribute below.

I dedicate this day to family day- our Biological family, our adopted family and our hive family- all families, whatever they are made up of and I hope that whoever you are, where ever you are, you have a family of some sort and look after each other, support each other, listen to each other, be kind and celebrate each other for all of us have an expiry date and none of us know when that is going to be, so treasure each other every day and tell your family and friends things as if you will never see them again, because you just might not as death is as random as a lightening strike.
It can happen anywhere at any time and under all type of circumstances- especially now, so love each other unconditionally, spend time with each other- even if it's just on the phone because you can't do it in person and as Mike and the Mechanics once sang, Say it loud, say it clear, you can listens as well as you hear, it's too late, when we die, to admit that we don't eye to eye

I'd like to say welcome back to @LisaMGentile and to offer my heartfelt condolences at the passing of her dear Mum and to offer my support in whatever way I can help her through this rough time.

Today is my Dad's 85th birthday and I had planned to get up there and be with him for it, but since I'm in the state that been locked down now for months and he's 85...it obviously didn't happen, so here's a #Hive tribute to my dear old dad Johnny 'The Moth' Carriage, who I miss very dearly and who can't even fathom what computers or the internet is- bless his little cotton socks- Steel capped boots...- but atleast he can remember how to call me back on the old iphone.....
Unfortunately dad won't be celebrating his birthday as he doesn't even want to be here anymore, especially after Mum left us 2yrs ago, so he sits in his armchair all day every day with his little dog Spike just waiting to go to Mum. (RIP my darling mum)
This is him at 17, Driving his own fuel 'tanker- as they were back in 1952....
This is him with his slightly 'newer' fuel tanker in 1958, with his then gorgeous girlfriend Lola Giffen
And then in 1973 with new MAN truck which he carted a hell of a lot of Bega Cheese and Kameruka Cheese on over the 11rys that he had it. Oh and who's that adorable little blond in the red dress you ask- Well me ofcourse- all of 2-ish yrs old. I'm still as adorable as that now too by the way....lol...🤣😂😅🤣😂😅
And then there's lovely couple, not husband and wife at the Eden Truckies ball in the late 70's

And then here's some of our family during the birthday speeches at his suprise 80th birthday that mum and I took 6 months planning for him and I even asked mum the night before should we actually tell him that there's going to be about 150 people to suprise for his birthday- just in case he gets TOO much of a suprise when he walked in............😳😳😳😳😳😱
And then as one of his birthday suprises, I got him nominated and inducted onto the #Truckies #WallofFame https://roadtransporthall.com/inductee?id=528 at the #TheNationalRoadTransportHallofFame in Alice Springs- which happened to be on the same night as his birthday! https://roadtransporthall.com/
And then here's them being all hungover and stuff the morning after dad's big 80th birthday bash that I suprised him with in 2015
So I nominate today, Dad's day- even if he doesn't know it or want it. I know it and I celebrate the birth of his life, otherwise I wouldn't be here today. And Dad truly is a wonderful father. He did so much for us growing up. He worked his guts out driving all hours of the Knight- yes and I do mean KNIGHT as one of the local newspapers dubbed him and his fellow truckies Knights of the Road as they drove all night every night to delver milk to the Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and beyond.
And then raced home to see us to take us to the beach, the river or camping or whatever, and I told him at his party that he is such an incredible man for all that he did and he said- well it was easy to do. It was easy because I wanted to do it.
