So today is Father's Day here in Australia and I want to recognise all fathers around the world and I know that there are millions of people that do not have fathers and I am sorry for that.
I also know that there's a lot of people around the world who wished that they had better fathers and for that I am truly sorry that you didn't.
And I know that there's also a lot of fathers around the world that wished that they had've been better fathers and I am sorry that they weren't then, but am glad that they recognise it now.
For those fathers that recognise their failings now as a father, try to make it up now while you still can-regardless of how much effort it might take.
And for those children of those fathers that failed in your eyes, rather than becoming him, you can become better than him, so when you have your own children, you know how to be a better father and know what not to do, so you don't make the same mistakes.
Having the title of a father does not automatically make the person a saint. Becoming a father can change a person for the better, but some fathers just can't get past the impact that their own fathers had on them- which can carry on down the line for generations, so don't let that streak become your future family legacy.
You can break out of that mold- that pattern and become the father that you truly want to be.
I also want to recognise the millions of incredible, brave, strong, resilient mothers that more than capably played- and still successfully play the role of fathers in their children's lives. I salute you.
And I want to recognise the millions of others- male, female, young, old that played a part in being a father figure.
And I hope that this day- whether you had a father or not, whether you had a good father or not, is a day of reflection, recognition and growth for you all, because there's no point ignoring it, denying it- Fathers day will be here to stay for a long time, so you might aswell find the positive in it (because for every negative, there is a positive too) and use that to your advantage- for inspiration, motivation, education, awareness, acceptance, forgiveness, growth, patience, understanding, empowerment, love, compassion- however that may be, as long as you are able to learn, grow and create a better world for yourself and your family.
I was one of the lucky ones. I have a great father that did his absolute best for my Mum, brothers and I. And I am such a lucky person that him and mum chose me- because I am adopted, I am a chosen child, so really, I know how very lucky I am and every day I am eternally grateful to the whole universe for allowing me to have such a wonderful father-and Mother (RIP my love) and family.
And I would Like yo to #MeetMyHero- my dad, who turned 85 a couple of weeks ago, so born in 1935- Happy Fathers Day Dad and little Spike on his favourite lap
And this is his dad- my Grandpa who was born in 1905- imagine that- being born then.

So today, I bring to you a great initiative on the Hive, @combination in the #OCD community- a way to give and get back at the same time. So last week I invested 1HBD, was given a randomly generated number- which happened to be my Mum's birthdate- lucky #13 and I won 3HBD in return for being the runner up.
So if you want to join in this lucky number contest, which not only benefits you but also the good things that @@@papilloncharity does for his community then please check out the information here because entries for week 8 is now OPEN!

And there's some fantastic photos in there so you can see all of the happy and amazed faces that they have helped! https://steemit.com/nobel/@elkezaksek/wir-bringen-licht-die-geschichte-unseres-uganda-projekts-we-bring-light-the-story-of-our-uganda-project-teil-13-part-13
