Here's a grab taken from footage that I shot at WFFT- https://www.wfft.org/ in Thailand. A dear little rescue deer for you not stuck in the headlights, but using her brain, taking the intitative, being pro-active and productive and I say that, Because after reading @felip article about using the best aromatherapy oils to use for depression- especially perspective, hope and renewal last night, I've been thinking about those very words.
Especially ***Perspective ***and I think some people need to get some, after all, we have not been sent to war, living on nothing but expired tins of Spam and moldy bread in the freezing, muddy trenches surrounded by the rotting corpses of so many of our friends such as happened in so many of the previous wars before us. (And unfortunately continue to do so)
For most of us around the world, we are lucky enough to have a roof over our head and some of us, not much else, by many of us wayyy more than that...
Many of us are so lucky to have access to medical services and supplies and infact those people that are serving on the front lines during Corona, are the only ones that really have the right to complain, as they are under duress, being over worked, underpaid, running out of the resources that they so dearly deserve and every moment of every day, risking their own health and lives to help the rest of us.
And how many medical staff have we heard of throughout the world that I contracted and died from Covid 19 or passed it along to their loved ones...So for those of you, driving around in your cars by yourself and STILL WEARING your disposable mask, consider the implications of that.
A) You're in the car by yourself so there's no risk of contracting Covid there, is there.
B) Disposable masks only have a finite shelf life on your face, so every time your wear one and then throw it out to get a fresh one, it creates more rubbish for the earth
C) when you are constantly wearing yours in completely unnecessary situations (like your car...) then that decreases the amount available for those people that really need them- such as medical staff AND people living in impoverished areas.
So for those that think that this lockdown period is the end of the world for them, please get a little perspective and consider yourself lucky to not be among the 25 or so MILLION people in Iran that may have contracted Covid 19 According to their President Rouhani, with many more suspected to have it and think about all of the other people in all of the other countries still recovering from recent earthquakes, volcanoes, fire, flooding and those that are right in the midst of natural disasters as we speak-such as the Earthquake that has just happened in Tibet an hour ago....
#IAmAliveChallenge and I am truly thankful every day for what I have got- which is simply the luck to be born into a lucky country. It's not as lucky as some, but luckier than others, but it's all about perspective.
Not sure @PixiePost if this is your #MissingPixieDust, but I think I'm getting warmer...
Yes, I am one of those privileged because I am sitting here writing this on on my old computer (2009 Imac which was given to me last year when I could afford to buy myself another one) and I live in a nice apt, I am lucky enough to have markets to buy my fresh food at and the skill to cook it in my nice kitchen. I am lucky enough to get unemployment benefits that pay my rent and now my bills and food (since it was increased a couple of months ago) because I lost my job to Corona in March, So I Know that I' am incredibly fortunate compared to so many, so it would be nice to see these people that I see in their cars be grateful for being where they are, be grateful for what they have, be appreciative for not being in one of these war torn or waterlogged countries and use this time to do something good, instead of complain.
This is the time to be alive, Savour this time to use your lives to create ways and support for others to stay alive.
Not only was it cold today- thankfully not Sweden or Canada cold, but it was also the first day of a $200 fine for not wearing a mask when you're out of you house.....so ofcourse, I'm wearing one of my designs from my https://www.redbubble.com/people/chocolatescorpi/shop?artistUserName=chocolatescorpi&iaCode=all-masks shop and it so soft and easy to breath through. I like breathing....😄
And believe it or not, this design is from a photo that I took of some ferns in my Mum's back garden a few years ago....
And as always, #IAmEngagedChallenge upon the #HiveISALive communities and for you today I have found some wonderful posts, poems, photos and facts for you to also enjoy.
Now I have just found me a community to jump into for it's 'charity' based community to* talk about projects or simple activities, how to help people in need * created/hive-149312 and a great post by @basilmarples about thoughts on the work that can be done for so many charities through the blockchain @basilmarples/charity-and-empowerment-on-the-blockchain-some-thoughts which I personally think is such a great idea as I'm sure that there are so many people on Hive that could do with a bit of a helping hand.....
Now if you never heard of the Oil Beetle, don't panic neither have I (Just don't poke them in the eyes- or any where for that matter 😳) because according to this great post from @sallybeth23 in the #NatureCommunity, https://peakd.com/hive-127788/@sallybeth23/the-amazing-life-cycle-of-an-oil-beetle#@sallybeth23/qdvoxw They are called oil beetles because if you disturb them they ooze oil droplets from their joints! The oil actually contains a poisonous chemical that causes blistering of the skin and painful swelling so definitely don't mess with these guys. There are many different types of oil beetle- The family is called Meloe found in North America and Europe particularly.
And if you can *see *through the words, then this is a poem for you by @d-pend to see Mother Natures Gifts @d-pend/silken-hands and gaze at her bounty through the magic of the camera lens imposed up on the images imprinted upon the page...
And then I met @steevc with his freakin awesome photo of a spider chilling out in it's web...and some other photos of the beautiful Bedfordshire Countryside.
And among the many other Hiveans that I'm discovering here, I know that you guys know him and I know that I have heard of him, but I also know that I haven't *heard *him, and so apparently the man of the hour, or quite awhile now by the sounds of it, is telling everyone that he wants to get to know them personally which sounds like a freaking awesome thing and I'm IN. And that man is @nathanmars @nathanmars/i-want-to-get-to-know-every-single-hiver-please-send-me-a-dm-with-your-availability-for-virtual-audio-video-conversations-via
So yes, as I slowly get to know The Hive, I'm getting a bit quicker and having lots of other conversations with my new friends and loving it. Still got soooooo much to learn though and faster to get.
And I'm really looking forward to diving into a few more things that I am really passionate about and one of those is #charities and #music too.
So once again, thanks for putting up with me (@Erik...lol) and Continuing appreciation for you all and especially for Mother Nature when you see something as simple and as elegant as this little white Rose and (as always) an original photo of mine for you to enjoy. 🙂 I wish that you could smell her too because she smelt so pretty. 😍
