Words have weight, and names are powerful.
"I didn't say that, DUMMY."
"How are you feeling, my love?"
"Get over here, Stupid."
"You're really worthless, you know that?"
"Good morning, Beautiful."
Did you feel any of those names when you read them? Did they cause any triggers for you? Did you smile, thinking back to someone calling you their love? Did you wince when you read "worthless"?
Words have such weight, and names are so very powerful. They shape our identity, and mold our mindsets. They can sap our confidence, or infuse us with energy.
I know all of this.
I know that hearing something over and over and over will start to break down your defenses (for good and bad) and begin to change the way you see yourself.
So, I don't know why it was so surprising after a few weeks of using my Supernatural app that I actually started feeling STRONG. feeling FOCUSED. feeling CAPABLE!!!
Every day I use this app to workout, the coaches consistently tell us how amazingly strong we are. They call us ATHLETES. They call us WARRIORS. And I CANNOT BELIEVE just how I beam every time they say this!!!
- I push a little harder.
- Reach a little higher.
- Work a little stronger.
And I absolutely LOVE it. ❤️ Yesterday, my Oculus headset was going very wonky. haha I didn't know why it was, but now I'm hearing that solar flares have been interrupting all kinds of devices and internet and such. So, yesterday I needed to do a DIFFERENT kind of workout - and I truly missed hearing those little bursts of encouragement.
But thanks to them infusing me for weeks and weeks, I still felt like a warrior athlete. I claim that lovely title for me - and I'm encouraging you all to start being kind to yourselves. Start believing in yourself and erase those old bitter titles that you have heard - and rename yourself according to what you WANT to be named.
