We waited for the Bangladeshi Embassy people to come to our town (they periodically tour various cities across Oman for the convenience of Bangladeshi expatriates). But, that didn't happen. It's getting late and we need to complete the visa process for the newborn. Hence, we decided to go to the Bangladesh Embassy, Muscat to submit the documents for his passport.
This is the second time I've driven to Muscat. We started at 5:20 am. According to Google Maps, the embassy was 283 km away from my home. With two little breaks, we reached there a little after 8 am. Doing any government official work in Bangladesh is a matter of great hassle. The things were almost the same in the embassy (according to the review). However, we heard they usually expedite the process for the kids and ladies without waiting in the long queue!
When we reached there, it looked like almost 200 people were waiting in the queue! It was quite a hot place where people were standing in line without any air conditioning. (However, the officers were sitting in the cool rooms). As the application was for a newborn, I could go to the front of the queue to pay the fee and complete the process without waiting at the back of the line. Alhamdulillah, the process was done in half an hour!
It was not feasible to visit other places in Muscat in this hot summer. Moreover, the kid was somewhat restless on this long trip (the first trip in his life). So, we decided to return home directly from the embassy! It was another 3-hour trip. We reached our home at around 1 pm safely, Alhamdulillah.
After lunch, I had an afternoon nap. In the afternoon, I walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes. I worked on the laptop and played with my kids. In the evening, I was at home helping my kid with his studies. Later, I walked on the treadmill for another 10 minutes. On Tuesday, I could do 10,860 steps!
