It was another busy and hetic day for me and all the students. From 8:am till 1:pm. We had series of test in the school, but the one that gave us tough time was statistics 😆. After school, I went to supermarket to get body cream and soap. My budget was 4k considering how much I bought them last.
To my surprise, what I bought 3k Last time amounted to 6k. Where are we heading to in Nigeria or is it like that in your country. Let me show you.
Just 5 item and the money was, are you sure 😃! Sometimes, I wonder what I will else I will do to earn additional income but when I think of it, I see that body is not firewood. One need rest no matter what.
High cost of living in Nigeria is alarming. A liter of fuel is 700 naira in the filling station and black market is 800 naira. Where are we heading to. Right now in my state, we are indirectly suffering cashless again. To withdraw 10k now is 200 naira, no more 100 naira. Where my school is, I use to spend 300 daily but now 600 naira.
And the way am looking at things, there is no sign that it will get better soon. No sign at all. When I left the supermarket, I entered market to buy things for the burial I mentioned before. I will update us on that soon. When I came back, I prepared to travel on 1st December,2023. I also called my sister who traveled before me to know how much she spent on transport. She told me that it took her 6k to reach village. That is something on 2,500 NGN before may 29,2023.
That helped me to know how am going to spend money when I reach village. I bought food my children am going to leave behind and I make sure everything was in other and on Friday 1st December,2023, I left Uyo Akwa Ibom state to Orlu in Imo state. It was a successful journey.
Conclusion
From my observation on what is going on now in Nigeria, many people walking on the road are angry. On many occasions, I see driver fighting with passenger. You ask someone question, he reply as if two of you have been quarrelling. Lol 😆.
It is really hard on people.
