No, I did not use these facilities (original photo from the church where my family reunion is held. I thought that was an odd looking urinal to the left 🤣)
I can remember how my elderly Mother hated the chore of taking a bath/shower.
I understand it now, although it is much easier without my long hair.
1st I bathed (shaving in the shower)
Then when combing my hair, I cut my bangs
Then, with great difficulty, I stripped my bed, and at this time have washed 3 loads. A small amount of actual clothing, one of sheets and pillowcases (and the smaller light weight comforter)
Then the larger comforter. It is still spinning.
My washer has a tendency to not stop filling/draining completely (not sure how to describe this, the cycle is done, but water will continue trickling in from the top back of the tub.
Doesn't do it all the time, but I have to keep watch; if I leave it too long, the clothes remaining in the tub will be sopping wet)
I found these things that look like (not sure what to call them) things ladies used to use to attach their hosiery to their panties, before there were stretch hose or panty hose.
These were sold to use to keep sheets from slipping.
I'd used them until this morning to hold back my curtains
So you can imagine the difficulty I had in lifting, holding my mattress elevated while I tried to attach them across the corners of the mattress padding.
But I got it done on 3 corners anyway.
While waiting for the next load to dry, I folded the linens I took off and washed.
I have my own technique
First the flat sheet folded to a long rectangle, then the fitted sheet and pillow case.
Stacked, then
Rolled into a bundle, one set of matching sheets per
They fit neatly into the drawer. I only have two sets of full sheets, now that I have a full size mattress.
Works for towels, and my older single bed sheets, one roll per set
And so
Nasty A$$ washed, bed stripped and remade with clean linens, I am ready to face a new day
Taken at Thanksgiving with some new Friends
