Hello friends! Checking in on the courtyard garden today here at the end of the growing season. I had lots of growth, but no veg this year, lol. The clover did well, though, so hopefully that feeds the soil for future years as they are nitrogen fixers.
The tomato seeds grew plants, but they never flowered once, and the green onions came up so late, they still look like blades of grass, and I don't imagine I'll get real onions from them until it's too late.
the largest scarlet clover flower!
Funnily enough, I planted jalapeño pepper seeds and I had thought they were duds, but I think I finally got two plants! Of course, it's late October, so...
I don't know why everything was so delayed this year. I have questions about this brand of seeds that I tried (Back To The Roots; their lavender seeds didn't take off, either). If I have the money, I will try and get seedlings next year. Other gardeners who did that actually got veg in the community garden.
I did get some volunteer woodruff which I let grow. Not sure how to harvest it yet, but it has some medical properties, so I need to check that out.
So not a lot of eating, but it's still a pretty garden. :)
Thanks for reading!
