The beginning of these posts was my My Life Just Hit a Brick Wall at High Velocity, on the Cusp of My 50th Birthday: Mid Life Crisis 101 post. I link that post because I want to give my readers some useful context for what I write in these posts.
Warm greetings all! 🙏 💚
From last night until around sunset today we were getting some extremely strong wind, so much so that I was uncertain whether the Flow House was going to get through it intact. I had a good bit of concern for all our buildings, as most had tarp roofs.
I woke up this morning at 3:30AM, and I could not get back to sleep, so I didn't get much sleep today again. The winds at that hour were frighteningly intense. I focused on Hive, as I often do when I can't sleep, so I'm at least using my time well. Much to my rather strong chagrin and annoyance, three important Hive things I use every day, @liketu, the @ecency android app, the Hive Engine, were not working for most of the day, which made doing many things on Hive far more challenging than usual. Three things at once not working was pretty ridiculous. I just had to hold of on doing various things, which meant that I had a backlog of Hive tasks to complete. Curiously the @ecency website was working fine, so I kept up on my notifications and engagemet using that. Also curiously, all three started working again as soon as I reached the point when I absolutely had to get my Hive tasks done.
.
I led Ester through another integral/yogic practice class from 8AM to 9:30AM, which was fun, and it helped me feel a lot better after not getting enough sleep. When we finished I returned to the Flow House to do my best to catch up on Hive, and to enjoy the rest of my superfood fire coffee. The wind was still really strong. Thankfully the Flow House was holding up well.
With the extremely strong winds, I was keeping an eye on the various buildings, and helping Ano with various tasks related to keeping them intact, including doing minor repairs. I had intends to fix the two holes created by wild pigs in the chicken pen today, but with Ryan going to get another load of cinders, and the wind, that didn't happen today.
In my four years at GaiaYoga I only recall one other really intense wind storm, and I have to say, this one beat it in intensity. All of us at GaiaYoga were concerned for the structural integrity of the buildings today. We were all very grateful to see that most of the structures faired well through the very strong winds.
Because @liketu was not allowing me to upload my image, I wasn't able to publish my Index4Index Daily Inspired Motivation: Always Give It Our All! post until the evening. Very thankfully it did finally work again after many hours of not working for me.
We had a community logistics meeting at 6PM, which further delayed me getting my Hive tasks done. I was able, however, to catch up pretty quickly. I finished and published My 29th Monday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update: Rapid Growth Across the Board! post, and then dove into writing this one. I'm so grateful that the intense winds stopped around sunset! Amelia, who had to cancel her session yesterday, is now coming tomorrow for one at 11AM.
My nursery got thrashed in the intense winds, with the two bamboo props for the shadecloth falling over, and the shadecloth was moving wildly. I'll have to clean up and fix everything on Wednesday, as I don't have time tomorrow.
OK dear Hive friends, I have a few more important Hive tasks that I have to get done, so I'm going to take my leave for now! Until tomorrow!
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Power Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚
