I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in a 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
This morning it popped into my mind to look a bit more deeply into the beginning of this exceptional Blockchain that is Hive. As most here know, Hive originated as a community-driven hard fork of the Steem blockchain, on March 20, 2020, in response to Justin Sun's hostile takeover. Reading about these events on various sites was fascinating, and quite moving.
I find myself filled with gratitude and pride for the decisions and actions of those in the Steem community who came together to focus their resources and efforts to resist Justin Sun's takeover attempt, and to hard fork Steem's code, giving rise to the Hive Blockchain. Because of Hive's battle-tested origin, we now have a Blockchain Ecosystem that far more resistant and resilient in the face of such takeover attempts.
I created my account on Hive on Thursday, September 23, 2021, so I've been on Hive for 58.723404255319% of the time that it's existed. That's pretty amazing to me. Sure, I would have loved to have discovered and joined Hive at the very beginning, but I'm ridiculously grateful to have come onto the scene when I did! It's been a glorious ride up to this point, and I very much look forward to many yesrs to come on our beloved Blockchain!
We're on our fifth day without a functioning water system, though thankfully with the tropical storm we've been getting ever-increasing amounts of rain since yesterday afternoon. We're still waiting on the new water pumps.
I kept to my usual cadence yesterday, Tuesday, with Hive catch-up and tasks getting most of my focus from morning to just after 3PM, when I finished (for a short time at least). It started out sunny in the morning, with clouds and rain becoming more dominant as the day progressed (from the tropical storm passing through our area).
Thankfully I had gotten a few photos for this post in the morning yesterday before it started raining. I got a couple more shots after the clouds and rain had moved in, too, and then I strained out more kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend. Once that was done it was on to do some work on the land.
While I didn't relish the idea of working in the rain, I ended up doing a couple hours of machete clearing work in the front orchard with Ano and Laksanya. Thankfully it didn't rain for most of the time we were working, though it did come down pretty heavy at the end.
After finishing the machete work, I used the 12-foot orchard ladder to check and clean the water-collection gutters over Stefano's lab. By this point the rain was coming down quite consistently and more intensely, so it was important to make sure that the gutters were clear so that the water was getting into the catchment tanks.
With that done, I cleaned off in the (green-water catchment tank) pool, made myself some food in the Landing, then returned to the Flow House to do another round of Hive catch-up and tasks, which I finished very early again. With Hive finished so early, I went to bed about 10PM. I slept well until about 2:30AM again, then I couldn't sleep, so I did a round on Hive, before trying to sleep again. I didn't actually sleep much more, and I finally got up by 6:30AM to go make my superfood fire coffee.
I mostly caught up on Hive already, and it's now approaching 12:30PM, so it's a good time to end this post to get to my comment moderation, and finish up any other catch-up and tasks, before going to work on the land later in the afternoon. The rain seems to be diminishing, so I likely won't have to work in the rain. I deeply appreciate you all! Until tomorrow morning! Onward and upward, joyfully together! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Power Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚
