Hi Ya'll!
I'll start by saying this book is a must-read. I have listened to this entire audio-book twice already, and listened to certain chapters even more.
This is a book that discusses the peer-to-peer movement from an Austrian economics point of view. There is a lot of info regarding the movement, philosophy and the technology. Bitcoin is definitely part of the discussion, but this is not a book where you will gain a lot of knowledge on the technical workings of bitcoin. You will get more of a big-picture view of how and why bitcoin is an important part of the peer-to-peer movement.
Do you remember the ah-ha moment, when you first realized there was something to all this bitcoin, blockchain, and crypto stuff? Or, maybe you never had it. Maybe you are still learning, and in the discovery phase. Maybe you don't really know, and don't really care? But, if so, how did you end up on Hive? Well, this book is once of the best resources I've found that can really break down the WHY bitcoin and crypto has value.
The book does tend to skip around some, and it does feel like it may be easy to lose focus. I won't claim this is one of the best written books published. But, it's not un-readable by any means. So, give it a chance. You will not be disappointed in the actual content.
If you have even had trouble wording the actual value of bitcoin to someone in a conversation and debate, this is a great starting point. Whether they are gold-bug smashing your fake internet money dreams, a total crypto-denier, or someone who just doesn't get it, or just doesn't care, this book can really help you break down the understanding of actual value, and WHY bitcoin has value.
Also, be sure to check out all things Jeffrey Tucker. Find his other books, find him on YouTube, or a podcast. Go see him speak live at conferences. He is a brilliant mind, a great speaker, and an excellent teacher in philosophy and economics.
