En nuestra acostumbrada caminata vespertina por el conjunto residencial donde vivimos, mi esposa y yo nos encontramos con esta maravilla de la naturaleza; planta de tuna o nopal, hermosa, bondadosa, esbelta y floreada, luciendo su mejor traje natural alegrando nuestro paisaje urbano.
On our usual evening walk through the residential complex where we live, my wife and I come across this wonder of nature; tuna or nopal, beautiful, kind, slender and flowery plant, sporting its best natural costume brightening our urban landscape.

Mucho se ha hablado de esta planta por lo que resumiré mi comentario a sus propiedades medicinales: La fruta, en todas sus variedades (blanca, roja y anaranjada) tiene propiedades nutricionales: contiene vitaminas, tales como tiamina, niacina y riboflavina, además de minerales esenciales, como calcio, fósforo, potasio, hierro, selenio, cobre, zinc, sodio y magnesio.
Much has been said about this plant so I will summarize my commentary to its medicinal properties: The fruit, in all its varieties (white, red and orange) has nutritional properties: it contains vitamins, such as thiamine, niacin and riboflavin, in addition to essential minerals, such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, selenium, copper, zinc, sodium and magnesium.
