Seditions, heresies, murders, and the like — these are characteristics that can manifest in a person under demonic possession or influence. It’s possible for someone to experience one or more of these traits, or even a combination of them. But remember this truth: the kingdom of God and righteousness do not cohabit with evil.
If you harbor any of these evil powers in your heart, you will struggle to live out the authentic Christian life. Despite your confessions, you will encounter inconvenience — particularly when it comes to sustaining and maintaining righteousness, which was given to you as a gift when you first believed.
In essence, no evil power is meant to dwell in the heart of a believer in Christ Jesus.
Now that we understand the enemy’s plan to wreak havoc, let us act wisely and reject every trace of demonic influence around us. The first step is self-examination, followed by seeking deliverance. We must take in the Word of God, which is described as the sword of the Spirit.
But before anything else, you must believe that Jesus is Lord. This is what Jesus told Nicodemus, a Pharisee who came to Him by night, asking how he could be saved. Jesus answered plainly:
“You must be born again.” — John 3:3
The Bible also teaches us that:
“Through knowledge shall the just be delivered.” — Proverbs 11:9
This knowledge is that Jesus has already paid the price — for your salvation, deliverance, prosperity, and freedom from every satanic influence.
“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” — Proverbs 20:27
Let the light of God search and purify every corner of your life.
