I received a message from my friend, asking if I'm available for a cup of coffee. I admit, I couldn't help but feel excited whenever my friends ask me this. It wasn't just because I love coffee, but also because it meant I could spend quality time with my friends, even if it was just over a cup of coffee at a cafe.
Our meet-up was scheduled after my friend's shift, which meant I had some extra time to spare. Instead of taking a Grab to the meeting place, I decided to walk since it was only a few minutes away from my home. It's been a while since I walked in solitude and I realized that walking can be therapeutic, especially when you're alone with your thoughts.
As I continued my walk, these buildings came into view. Despite the heat, the breeze made the walk bearable. I found myself captivated by the sight of these tall buildings, as they reminded me that there are other bigger things in the world than my own problems. When did I start pondering this when I'm just strolling? Being alone with my thoughts gave me the chance to clear my mind.

As I walked on, I couldn't help but notice that most of the establishments in the area were closed. This part of the city is usually bustling with activities, and this is where me and my other group of friends often hang out. This area is full of restaurants, bars, and pubs. It was quite windy. Look at the trees!

I was just a few steps away from our meeting place when something caught my eye. I passed by a restaurant where there was a table reserved for some adorable sleeping cats! What a delightful sight!

I got so consumed in taking pictures of these fur babies that I completely lost track of time and almost forgot where I was headed. Lol. After a few minutes, I finally arrived at the mall where I saw my friends Niko and May checking out the plants stall. Niko was looking for gardening supplies, May was searching for seeds, and I was hoping to find a Monstera plant. Unfortunately, they don't have any.

After leaving the plants stall empty-handed, we went to Starbucks. Niko insisted on getting our first round of orders, Coffee Jelly and Purple Yummy Cake. We decided to sit in the alfresco area since there are a lot of people inside. It was nice to catch up with my friends and lose track of time. Before leaving, we decided to grab another cup of coffee to go.

Niko insisted that we go for a walk near Uptown and we're happy to oblige. When my friends asked for another round of walking, I knew that they still wanted to spend more time together. It was great knowing that they were enjoying my company as much as I was enjoying theirs. As we stroll, we chatted and laughed and I couldn't help but feel grateful.

We walked through different shops along the way while having some meaningful conversations. Through this walk, I felt more connected with my friends. Then, Niko pointed out the moon and excitedly told me how beautiful it looked that night. I stopped walking to take a picture of the moon. Aside from taking pictures of sunsets and sunrise, moon is also my favorite subject. My friends knew how much I cherish that moment, so we stopped for a while and talked about anything and everything.
We finished our second cup of coffee and decided it was time to go home. While we're waiting for their Grab cars to arrive, May asked me to take a picture of a certain building, which became the next topic of our conversation.
My friends and I do this once in a while for us to talk about our day and how it's like at work, and if there are any wins or challenges we experienced throughout the week. Walking in solitude and walking with friends brought me so much peace and joy.
How about you, do you also take a walk in the city with your friends when you're feeling overwhelmed?
That's it for my #WednesdayWalk, an initiative of @tattoodjay.
