This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
During the past week, we had quite a hectic schedule. But besides that, there was hardly an opportunity to go for a decent walk since we had a lot of rain in our area.
But looking through my photos, I thought it might be a good idea to highlight some of the walks with some photos I took over the past year.
It wouldn't be in any specific order though. I would just like to take you on a trip down memory lane with me, looking at some of the shots I was able to get between December 2021 and December 2022.
So, here we go.
Umgeni Steam Railway.
The Umgeni Steam Railway is a fun train in the Outer West area. It is a wonderful tourist attraction and provides fun for international tourists, South African holidaymakers in general, and locals alike.
Its normal route is between Kloof and Inchanga, but due to damage to the railway line during the floods we experienced in April of 2022, everything came to a halt.
Currently, I believe the train is running again. But it now departs from Inchanga, traveling to Botha's Hill and back due to the fact that they are still busy with repairs to the railway line to Kloof.
Here are some photos from December 2021.
At the Right Place at the Right Time.
On one of my walks in July of this year, I was fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time.
I was able to get some shots of this giant cargo ship entering Durban harbor.
Wilson's Wharf.
During the course of the year, I managed to get some nice shots while going on numerous walks in Wilson's Wharf.
I came across this interesting yacht on one of my walks...
And some nice sunrise shots over Wilson's Wharf...
The spots in the photo above, are not dirt on your screen... They are birds having a good time in the early morning hours...
On the South Coast
I was fortunate to get some nice shots of splashes while the surf was breaking over the rocks on the beach in Amanzimtoti.
One of te Most Photographed Sites on the Durban Coastline.
In Umhlanga Rocks, located on the Northcoast, we have gone for many walks.
I managed to get this shot of the Whale-bone Pier on one of my early-morning walks in Umhlanga Rocks.
Paradise Valley.
One of our walks was in Paradise Valley. After following an adventurous hiking trail through the bush, we eventually arrived at this beautiful waterfall.
The Valley of 1000 Hills.
We have done quite a few walks in the Valley of 1000 Hills and as can be expected, we enjoyed some beautiful scenes and spectacular views.
And that's it for today, Folks! I hope you enjoyed my walks with me and also enjoyed reliving some of them today with me.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
