This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
Last weekend, we had some beautiful weather. After a busy week, and especially with my wife's mother not being well, we both felt the need to just get out of the house...somewhere quiet and peaceful where you can clear your head.
Our choice fell on the beach in Winkle Spruit.
We parked on the southern side of the main beach and headed for the rocks.
The old light tower (not working anymore) always gets my attention when we go down there.
The weather was perfect and the sea was beautiful.
We can still see the evidence of the recent floods with some logs that washed ashore, but now it is creating its own beauty.
As the surf was breaking over the rocks and washing out onto the beach, it was such a bright white color...
I wanted to capture a moment of this bright, white, yet powerful water coming towards the beach. Although you could sense the power of the water and there was a roughness coming over the rocks, it was also peaceful and rhythmic at the same time.
And what would a visit to the beach be without getting a shot of a little splash here and there...?
Just to the right of where I was standing while taking the previous shot, I saw this prominent rock standing out from the rest.
I found this log with a puddle in the background, which created a nice picture in my mind and I tried to capture it the way I saw it...
I took many shots of it from different angles with the consistent change of the surf in the background.
Here are a few that I will share today...
A little further down it was less rocky and in the shallow water, a variety of colors were constantly forming.
After a relaxing and peaceful morning on the beach, we returned home with renewed energy for the new week ahead...
So, that's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
