This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
For my post today, I want to share some spectacular scenes from our walk on the beach in Umhlanga the weekend before last.
I decided to get some shots of the Whalebone Pier and the Umhlanga Lighthouse. We arrived before sunrise, so I was able to get some nice shots during the blue hour.
The first photo was taken as we approached the Whalebone Pier from where the car was parked.
Going down to the pier and as you see, there were already movement as some early-morning visitors were already walking around on the pier and the surrounding area. In the background, you can see the lights of the some ships on the horizon.

For the next photo, I took a quick opportunity without any people coming into the picture except for one person in the distance at the far end of the pier, also taking photos.
After spending some time on the pier, we went down onto the beach. From there I took some shots looking out over the ocean through the gaps between the pillars below the pier, capturing the colours of the morning.
Getting some distance between me and the pier, I took these shots showing some silhouettes of people on the pier against the colours of the early-morning light, just before the sun came up.
Slowly but surely, it became lighter as time went by. Although, much of the light in this image was still from the lights on the pier.
I got this nice shot of the Umhlanga lighthouse with its flashing light, showing some reflections in the water below.
Lastly, I'll end today's post with some wall art on the wall below the Whalebone Pier.
That's it for today, folks!
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
