I'm glad you enjoyed chapter two of our trip to Cappadocia.
Lake Tuz is the second largest salt lake in Turkey, where we stopped to see the landscape and see the salt water and its formations of nature, is a unique place in the region characterized by its white lands by the salt flats. It is a saline lake, that is, it has a high content of mineral salts that are currently several industries who treat this water and minerals, which gives it its characteristic shape and white or pink color this time we went in summer ie were dry. The lake is formed from the evaporation of groundwater containing salts and minerals acceptable for human consumption, and its surface can vary according to the seasons as seen in the pictures.
The history of Lake Tuz dates back to the Paleolithic era and the Silk Route of the Romans or the Ottomans, when the region was inhabited by nomadic tribes who fed on the rich game and fish in the waters of the lake today is a great nest of conservation and preserves of aven since 1999 was decreed restricted area for the conservation of birds including the great flamingo. Throughout history, the lake has been an important place for the fauna and flora of the region and its rock formations of volcanic lava, and you can find a variety of waterfowl and plants resistant to the extreme conditions of the lake and that by decree this area is protector of nature and birds that live here.

Now, after enjoying the Tuz lake, we finally arrived in Cappadocia to our misfortune as I told you yesterday we were going to ride the balloons but the weather was not good so they did not cancel them completely, a dream landscape full of volcanic rocks made by the lava of the volcanoes that have been here since 1899. The Cappadocia region is famous for its “fairy chimneys” (small volcanic stone columns formed by the erosion of wind and rain as seen here), its “castles” (large stone formations formed by the erosion of volcanic lava from the volcanoes in the area) and its “infernal roads” when they were active (high corridors and tunnels formed by the erosion of lava) that blend in with the greenery of the area already taken over by nature.
The history of Cappadocia dates back to prehistoric times, especially in the Roman or Ottoman Empire, when the region was inhabited by nomadic tribes who took refuge in the region's natural caves and tunnels made by the active volcanoes of the time. Over time, the region became an important center of trade and culture also known as the silk road as it is in the center of Turkey , and you can find a variety of ruins of churches as throughout my publications I have shown and taught you , monasteries and ancient villages in the region as the temple of Apollo and the mausoleum among those seen so far .
The landscape of Cappadocia is unique and truly impressive for the places that tomorrow I will be showing you in my next post . The lava that overflowed from the volcanoes in the region froze and solidifies forming these mountains in the form of rain that today is a great beautiful landscape , forming layers of volcanic rock that have been eroded over the centuries and entire millennia tra several populations and human generations . The result is a landscape of incredible shapes and colors and special for all tourists visiting the area, with rocks of all shapes and sizes huge volcanic memory of the area, from small columns to large stone formations that look like castles at the end of the lava may have remains of other civilizations.
