Our visit to Oviedo in Spain was very eventful, but at the same time it was one of the few cities where we at least slept two nights. We arrived on a Monday afternoon, it was very breezy and cold and we had to stay in the hotel, have lunch and start preparing for our concert that would be in the late afternoon. That concert did not end so late, but as I said in a previous post, that day we knew the cold, and although we had several night hours available we preferred to stay and rest at the hotel, plus it was the second concert where Jhoxiris could not sing, which caused that the next morning we only went to have breakfast and to change some money for the local currency.
Nuestra visita a Oviedo en España fue muy accidentada, pero a la vez fue una de las pocas ciudades donde al menos dormimos dos noches. Llegamos un lunes en la tarde, había mucha brisa y frío y teníamos que alojarnos en el hotel, almorzar y comenzar a prepararnos para nuestro concierto que sería al caer la tarde. Ese concierto no terminó tan tarde, pero como dije en un post anterior, ese día conocimos el frío, y aunque teníamos varias horas nocturnas disponibles preferimos quedarnos a descansar en el hotel, además de que fue el segundo concierto donde Jhoxiris no pudo cantar, lo que ocasionó que la mañana siguiente solo fuéramos a desayunar y a cambiar algo de dinero por la moneda local.
In retrospect, although we were going to sleep in the city of Oviedo that night, we were not really there. After that breakfast we started to get ready to leave for the trip to Cantabria. It would be an hour and a half on the road, the rehearsal, the concert, which all took another three hours and then we would return to Oviedo with another hour and a half of travel, so that second day was exhausting. But the next day we would leave for the city of Burgos at noon. Jhoxiris was already feeling better and I told him: get ready to get up early and put on your best coats, because tomorrow we will do a very early walk to get to know the city in a couple of hours. And so it was, at 6 in the morning we left our room and walked through the central area of Oviedo and Campo de San Francisco, a wonderful place where I took these pictures while walking...
En retrospectiva, aunque esa noche íbamos a dormir en la misma ciudad de Oviedo realmente no estuvimos ahí. Luego de ese desayuno comenzamos a alistarnos para salir de viaje a Cantabria. Sería una hora y media en carretera, el ensayo, el concierto, que todo se llevó una tres horas más y luego volveríamos a Oviedo con otra hora y media de viaje, así que ese segundo día fue agotador. Pero al día siguiente saldríamos a la ciudad de Burgos a medio día. Jhoxiris ya se sentía mejor y le dije: prepárate a madrugar y a colocarte tus mejores abrigos, que mañana haremos una caminata muy temprano para conocer la ciudad en un par de horas. Y así fue, a las 6 de la mañana salimos de nuestra habitación y recorrimos el casco central de Oviedo y el Campo de San Francisco, un maravilloso lugar donde tomé estas fotografías mientras caminaba...
This place was a square, a field, a forest, all at once. There are many trees and monuments. Small lakes with ducks and turtles and we even met Mafalda, the same Mafalda who is in Argentina, but who is also very loved here because her creator received the Prince of Asturias award. The weather was perfect and the vegetation worthy of the first days of spring, but I think the wonderful thing about this tour was that I did it with Jhoxiris, and it was hard to convince her because in previous cities she stayed at the hotel, I told her that she was missing many wonders and I managed to convince her.
Este lugar era una plaza, un campo, un bosque, todo a la vez. Hay muchos árboles y monumentos. Pequeños lagos con patos y tortugas y hasta nos encontramos a Mafalda, la misma que se encuentra en Argentina, pero que también es muy querida aquí porque su creador recibió el premio Príncipe de Asturias. El clima estaba perfecto y la vegetación digna de de los primeros días de primavera, pero creo que lo maravilloso de este paseo fue que lo realicé con Jhoxiris, y vaya que me costó convencerla porque en ciudades anteriores se quedó en el hotel, le dije que ese estaba perdiendo muchas maravillas y logré convencerla.
In one hand I had my camera ready to capture good pictures and in the other I was holding my girl, everything was perfect, we could only hear the sound of the birds singing overhead and to our surprise, that morning there was not much breeze, and we discovered that the temperature without the breeze was very pleasant. Not only did we transit this magical place, we actually went to many nearby areas in record time and even had breakfast with a rich and well-deserved coffee. When you feel so happy and you are with the right person, time is good for everything, in fact we did not feel the passing of time and even less tired, and we did walk for hours. In the end we had to stop by the hotel to put our bags on the bus and embark to the next city of our concert tour... Memories and moments that are worth gold ❤️
Un una mano llevaba mi cámara lista para capturar buenas fotografías y en la otra iba agarrado de mi chica, todo era perfecto, solo se escuchaba el sonido de las aves cantando en lo alto y para nuestra sorpresa, esa mañana no hubo mucha brisa, y descubrimos que la temperatura sin brisa era muy agradable. No solo transitamos este mágico lugar, realmente fuimos a muchas zonas cercanas en tiempo récord y hasta desayunamos con un rico y merecido café. Cuando uno se siente tan feliz y está con la persona correcta, el tiempo rinde para todo, de hecho no sentimos el paso del tiempo y mucho menos cansancio, y vaya que sí caminamos por horas. Al final sol teníamos que pasar por el hotel para subir nuestras maletas al autobús y embarcarnos a la siguiente ciudad de nuestra gira de conciertos... Recuerdos y momentos que valen oro ❤️
