This morning, the sun is not as bright as yesterday. The beginning of the day looks overcast. But I was determined to follow the advice. To get out and take a walk while taking some photos. It's a very good idea and I really like it. It's wednesday, and I've been intending to take a walk and take photos to be my first post on #wednesdaywalk. It's just that, yesterday, I expected that today's sun would be as bright as yesterday.
The location I chose for the walk was in the northwest of Banda Aceh. It is a beach location that is embanked with rocks to anticipate sea abrasion. In the west wind season, the sea waves will hit the beach hard. The sea wall will hold waves and slow down ocean currents so that the beach is protected from abrasion.
Apart from securing the beach, the sea wall is also used by anglers. This morning, I saw one of the fishermen heading to the location he had chosen for fishing.
The atmosphere seemed very calm, especially when the sun was not provoking people to move quickly. Morning as is being maintained for a slightly longer duration. The sea is also not wavy. Low tide looks more like people are inhaling and holding their breath. Seawater seeping through the sea wall rocks to the side of the beach forms a pool that is almost without ripples. The cumulus clouds that form on the horizon also appear static. There is no wind to move or disperse it. Just as the islands in northwestern Aceh appear misty, the clouds barely budge. The islands are also a bit like a sea wall. It's just that, they are dealing with a wider ocean, the Indian Ocean.
At that location, a small garden centered by a monument displayed the shape of an open book. There is a small map depicting the northern island of Sumatra (Aceh). Ulee Lheu, the toponym for the cape, is located at the northwestern tip of the Sumatran mainland.
While in that extremely serene atmosphere, the flowers of the vines tried to soften the harsh look of the rock. The softness of the flower petals and their colors seem to want to balance anything that gives the impression of being rough and hard.
