In the second week, the rain kept pouring due to two consecutive typhoons, Egay and Falcon. Though Falcon is already out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility, we are still experiencing heavy rains because of the Southwest monsoon. With that, I have yet to visit a park or tourist attraction near my place. In the past weeks, the routine was only work and home. Quite dull, but I was left with no choice.
As I scroll through my phone gallery, I remember that I took a short walk sometime last week because of National Transport strike. Not all public vehicles participated, but since only a few were on the road, it takes them the usual time to wait for an FX . With the threat of heavy rains as I look at the sky, that was enough reasons to take the alternate walk going at work. Which I will be sharing today in # #Wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay and #makemesmile by @elizacheng

Just looking at the road, it is easy to say that it's not a typical day. Most of the time at this hour, this area is congested already. Thus, not today. Only motorcycles are domineering.
I still need to walk for about ten minutes or more, depending on the pace.
The temptations! last week, I also decided to stop eating rice and give more extended hours the gap between my dinner and breakfast. Seeing my favorite fast food makes me almost salivate! Crispy chicken joy? Or could I have Lasagna Supreme? Or could it be the chocolate triple cake? Believe me; it was a silent battle between the cravings and the brain.
Remembering my current weight, plus the dresses that no longer fit, was enough reason to walk straight, completely canceling the idea of dropping by.
Past six in the morning, only a few people are walking. Usually, only the tenants in the nearby condominium jog around with their pets or workers from night shifts. Others are like me, who are about to start the day.
Uncle Jonh's, which was known for years as Mini Stop, was a convenience store like 7/11 but did a rebranding sometime last year. That is to owner the founder Mr. John Gokongwei Jr, who passed away already.
A few steps away, I saw this Buko juice vendor. That reminds me how expensive to buy here, almost $1, while at home in the province, we have a lot of trees. I can eat and drink as much as I want,
The lively place it was before but now abandoned—one of the small businesses affected by the pandemic.
And still a quiet morning.
This santan flower reminds me of my childhood. We used to play and make jewelry by connecting the petals and even sipping it as it tasted sweet.
There! I can almost see the building where the company I am working with is located after I pass by the condominium of rich people, as we used to joke.
But wait, anyone knows this palm tree? The fruits look like cherries, and the leaf's shapes were fantastic!
The one I am talking about earlier. The area was still surrounded by trees, which gave a warm and peaceful environment. Maybe one of the reasons why units here are expensive aside from the current location.
The Tycoon Building is where all fast food chains are located and where we usually eat if we still need a packed lunch. This is the nearest in the vicinity where the neighboring are all business buildings, schools, and condos. So, at lunchtime, the queuing here was too long that sometimes 30 minutes is just spent falling in line đŸ¤£.
Finally, the extension entrance was still closed, so I had to walk more going to the main entrance.
Early bird? Seemed this guy needs help or waiting for someone. The ground floor is still at peace, lol. No workers in a hurry walking back and forth.
I arrived at work, safe from the rain and thankful our utility was early, or else I would be staying outside while waiting.
That ends my walk, and have a great day.
