Of course you know by now I have been in Paris, France 🇫🇷 Beginning of this beautiful month of July.
As I made 1768 photos, some days more than 500 photos, I continue to only post some highlights per day and when there are too many… it will be in 2 parts 😉🤩 so today I show you the other half of the first day 🤓 PART 2.

I again, won’t post all locations, as we go through many neighbourhoods /districts on our little adventure ~ the entire day was 19km.
So we are at 75% of it by the time we start our first photo today… well done you, you are still fresh and eager to walk on!

Let’s start our walk for today… are you coming with me?
We stopped last time at the Eiffel Tower. You remember… we are resting on a little bench. 😉😎
Let’s jump right up… and continue.
We are walking now through some back streets when we notice… to our right:
The building next to us frames it perfectly. Don’t you think?
Walking further we see great architecture all around us.
And a statue on the roundabout.
This is at Place D'Iéna, 16th Arr. (District)

After walking this far… (counting the other 75% of our walk last time) we sure need some drinks… we deserve some 🍹🍹
So we sit down at this little bar. Let me introduce you to: Café Valentin.
We ordered some drinks. I had a pineapple juice… nice and quite here with good views.
What did you order?
That was refreshing, let’s walk further… come come… something beautiful to see everywhere. Don’t miss it.
We see this statue in a little park and a dove just rested on his pointed out arm… funny 😄
Across the street we see this beautiful house. Look at the details of the façade.
Bare with me… we need to join the tourists for our highlight of this part 2. So let’s dive right in, and enter one of the busiest areas in Paris. Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
We see large department stores and other interesting buildings.
At the end… be careful… let’s walk in the middle of the street. On a little stretch, between cars driving by, we can take a few photos.

Ok ok… yes, I agree. It is getting busy… people being people and start to shovel to the front and pushing… let’s escape now. We cross the road to safety on the sidewalk. We made it.

Let me share with you a bit more about this beautiful monument. A girl scooted right by us…

It states:
”The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, France, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile—the étoile or "star" of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues. The location of the arc and the plaza is shared between three arrondissements, 16th (south and west), 17th (north), and 8th (east). The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
The Arc de Triomphe- It was commissioned in 1806, after the victory at Austerlitz by Emperor Napoleon at the peak of his fortunes. Laying the foundations alone took two years and, in 1810, when Napoleon entered Paris from the west with his new bride, Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria, he had a wooden mock-up of the completed arch constructed. The architect, Jean Chalgrin, died in 1811 and the work was taken over by Jean-Nicolas Huyot.
During the Bourbon Restoration, construction was halted, and it would not be completed until the reign of King Louis-Philippe, between 1833 and 1836, by the architects Goust, then Huyot, under the direction of Héricart de Thury.
Access:
The Arc de Triomphe is accessible by the RER and Métro, with exit at the Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station. Because of heavy traffic on the roundabout of which the Arc is the centre, it is recommended that pedestrians use one of two underpasses located at the Champs Élysées and the Avenue de la Grande Armée. A lift will take visitors almost to the top – to the attic, where there is a small museum which contains large models of the Arc and tells its story from the time of its construction. Another 40 steps remain to climb in order to reach the top, the terrasse, from where one can enjoy a panoramic view of Paris.“
No, we didn’t go up. We just decided let’s go away from the masses.
Walking side roads we discover this workers van’s 🚐 trailer.
It was covered in a beautiful graffiti.
How cool 😎 is that!
As we walk further we discover this unusual house. It so looks out of place. But at the same time… wow… why not. Love to discover different things. And I know you do too. This was in the 8th Arr. (District)
We decide to wait until the delivery van drives away.

A little bit further… we this this stunning gate. With lots of trees behind it.
In the back ground we see Gare St. Lazare. A train station.
Walking towards a crossing we see this Mc Donald’s building… take a closer look!
Look at all the details, the statue and the stork on the chimney. Very interesting 🤓 quirky…
After crossing roads and walking over the square of the train station. We see these clocks ⏰
Walking back towards our Hotel, we stop at this café on Rue de Maubeuge, Paris
We are getting Cappuccinos ☕️☕️☕️ Are you joining in?
