Last weekend the weather was very windy and quite cold, around 8 degrees Celsius. But it was sunny and I wanted to take some pictures on a short walk to the lake. It's always a bit shocking to go outside when the first cold of the season hits you. We have had a few nights of frost already. But today it's warmer again, 16 degrees Celsius this morning.
Below I have just started my small 'excursion', you can see the house in the background.
The lake is about a 10-minute walk away, through the fields. So I was just walking on the property this time. It's quite wet in the fields, due to all the rain last Summer, so you definitely need rubber boots.
It was such a stunning day though. Definitely a refreshing walk with the wind and cold air. (You can't really see in the pictures how windy it was).
For a long time, my parents had sheep. (The sheep were here in Summer but 'lived' at my parent's other property for the rest of the year). In the fields, there's still some sheep net in some places. For 5 years or so, my mom has leased out most of the land though. The neighbors have their cattle here now. I realize I haven't shared any pictures of the cows...but they have kept me company since I moved here π Not for much longer though, the neighbors will actually sell their cattle and quit farming. My mom will have to find a new tenant, most probably it will not be someone who will have grazing animals here.
And yes, during this walk I didn't spot the cows, they have a pretty big area to graze.
Here I'm actually at the lake, just turning around to where I came from. (The lake is behind me).
I expected the waves to be bigger, but well...
This is not really a beach since the cattle walk here (we have a small beach close by). I really like this spot though so if there won't be any cattle here anymore it might be a good idea to 'transform' it into a beach.
On my way back. Some rose hips.
You can see my cottage in the background (not the bigger house where I live).
And here the cottage is kind of hidden behind the trees. To the right though, you can see a small shed. There's actually a small and simple sauna in that shed, something my dad built but didn't finish. I have done some work there and hope to finish the sauna π
Back home π
I'm grateful for this place. I really appreciate it. But I'm not a fan of Winter in Sweden so I have decided to spend the Winter months in Thailand. It's also time for me to move on so to say, start the next chapter. I'll probably return here next Spring and then I don't have to start from scratch, it's been a lot of work. Mostly enjoyable but still.
Thanks for reading πΈ
Wishing you a lovely day π
