I messed up the days again. Or it is just that we have a strange relationship? Maybe it is all normal... that I write about my days with a delay. But the days are not innocent in this matter either. They have a very sophisticated way of keeping me busy, which later leads to a state of feeling guilty for not finishing some tasks that have been waiting for my intervention for a while. Please, don't ask about my plants or about practising some new music that I would like to learn. Kindness rocks? Almost forgotten, dying of boredom on the desk, all in their grey shades.
Walking on Wednesday? It is also messed up. It happened on Tuesday, so now you see what I am talking about. One day late or early, it is always a big chaos.

A perfect match to this chaotic succession of events is this little chapel - Hermitage of Sant Roc. I saw it on my Tuesday Wednesday walk while doing a route we had done many times but this time we walked in the opposite direction. The starting point was the street where this chapel can be found, moving towards the orchards and the river (we usually start from the river and return to the town this way).

The info board says that:
...the Hermitage was built in the middle of the 19th Century. Near the Hermitage, there was a large field used for different agricultural tasks: in June and July it was used for threshing wheat and in mid-August it was key for the tasks related to grape drying, being where grapes were laid out to dry and become raising. The festivities had to adapt to the agricultural cycles and, thus, they could not be held on August 16th, as that is the middle of raisin season. Thus, in Altea, Sant Roc's day is moved ahead to the first weekend in August.
source 👇- I read it from the board. 😁

The next part of the route is walking between the orchards and having views toward the Sierra de Bernia. One of my wishes is to hike there one day but it is tricky when it is warm, and also I need someone who already knows well the paths. Any volunteers out there? For now, it remains a goal to be realized one day in the future - before I get too old for that. 😂

Here, we are already by the river, passing under one bridge. What we see is a message that one unknown "street artist" left for the passers-by: True sailing is dead. Who knows what he meant with this note... but I am sure that we should continue walking, flying, sailing, swimming, riding or else - choose your option and don't stop. Even if the days are mixed up. ✨
