Hello, dear Hivers from all over the world! In my previous blog I was talking about the stopover that we did at Carmen, Cebu after I renewed my PRC ID. It was such an incredible walk with my child that freshened up myself from an exhausted trip.
Since the opening of classes here in the Philippines started on the last week of August, I need to claim my ID right away so there is no fear in teaching. An expired license must be renewed.
We embarked earlier so we will not be caught by the traffic. We weren't able to take our breakfast so we decided to stop at the restaurant along the road. We took a short walk and ate together happily.
This is the setting of the eating place. As I roamed around to see what else this restaurant could offer to the customers, the overlooking view of the sea enticed me. There is serenity by the sea. The sea breeze is relaxing and refreshing.
The restaurant is accessible to all passers-by, motorcyclists and travelers as this is along the national road.
The Second Stopover
As usual, on every trip, we will take time to look for a beautiful place where we can stop so we can breathe fresh air from the sea and sometimes afterward buy a treat for our children. This time, we have our second stopover at Danao, City.
Now, let me explore you to the Fifth District of Northern Cebu with a booming economy because of the infrastructures and companies however on this walk, I have eye-witnessed their park only. I intuitively know that immersing in nature can uplift my feelings especially when traveling. It makes me dizzy when I ride any vehicle. To restore my draining energy, I took a quick walk here.
This remnant of World War II, the Great Canyon was placed at the frontal side of the park. Upon seeing this object, I was in reflective mode, contemplating how Filipinos fought for freedom before. It was kept as an emblem that stands fiercely through the years.
Looking at the natural green scene of the place helped reduce the dizziness I felt. My stress was released and I enjoyed looking at the landscapes that were pleasant to my eyes. The transformative shadows of the trees allure the locals to take a rest under their shades for a while to be relaxed and refreshed.
To satisfy the stomachs of the people who flock here, placing some stalls near the park is a great idea. I love the concept of having some stalls for food street that are loved by Filipinos. I was in total amusement to have seen the number of locals eating here with full of satisfaction. These foods are delicious and affordable.
I cannot resist not to buy for myself as this set of foods is tempting. This is best when paired with juices, best-loved by Filipinos. As I continued walking forward, I bought kwek-kwek (quail egg wrapped with flour) and enjoyed my walk while eating.
One of the oldest churches in Cebu is found in Danao City. I took a closer look at it but I wasn't able to get inside as we were running out of time. It has a wide quadrangle enough to cater to a huge number of devotees who love to visit here.
What I love most about this park is its location which is near the sea. As I left the place, the touch of nature eliminated my stress and this restorative walk uplifted my emotions and feelings. It was a simple walk but there was fulfillment and contentment after all.
