My walk today is the one I usually take almost daily around the place I frequent the most after my home: my workplace. I spend many hours a week here and, honestly, I'm not complaining. Besides the fact that I like my job, this is a very nice place, very central and visited. I'm talking about the Miramar Business Center, known as MTC. In this tour, I will show you much of what surrounds me here.
Un Saludo a toda la comunidad de paseo de miércoles.
Mi caminata de hoy es la que habitualmente realizo casi a diario por el sitio que más frecuento después de mi casa: mi centro de trabajo. Aquí paso muchas horas a la semana y, sinceramente, no me quejo. Además de que me gusta mi trabajo, este es un sitio muy bonito, muy céntrico y visitado. Estoy hablando del Centro de Negocios de Miramar, conocido como MTC. En este paseo, les mostraré gran parte de lo que me rodea aquí.
The MTC has several office buildings where different business firms and commercial agencies are located. It is located in the Playa municipality between two of the main avenues, 5th and 3rd avenues. This is a very nice place, with large gardens, surrounded by stores, cafes, and very close to well-known hotels. There are always many visitors and tourists here. On the first floor of the buildings, several new stores have opened that belong to small businesses and offer a wide variety of products.
My company, Etecsa ( Communications Company of Cuba) has its offices in several of the buildings here. I work in the Santiago building and each building is named after a different city.
El MTC cuenta con varios edificios de oficinas dónde se encuentran diferentes firmas de negocios y agencias comerciales. Está ubicado en el municipio Playa entre dos de las avenidas principales, la 5ta y la 3ra avenida. Este es un lugar muy bonito, con amplios jardines, rodeado de tiendas, cafeterías, y muy cercano a reconocidos hoteles. Aquí siempre hay muchos visitantes y turistas. En la planta baja de los edificios, han abierto varias tiendas nuevas que pertenecen a pequeños negocios y ofrecen una amplia variedad de productos.
Mi empresa, Etecsa (Empresa de Comunicaciones de Cuba) tiene repartidas sus oficinas en varias de las edificaciones de este lugar. Yo trabajo en el edificio Santiago y cada edificio tienen el nombre de una ciudad diferente.
The interior of the buildings is very elegant, and the offices are very spacious and comfortable. The windows of my office overlook the central garden in the middle of the buildings that make up the block. This is a large plaza where there are always many people since there are several travel agencies, coffee shops, stores, ATMs, and the commercial offices of Etecsa. The view is always pleasant, there is a nice breeze since this place is always in the shade. There are also several plots of land with different ornamental plants, even royal palms.
El interior de los edificios es muy elegante, y las oficinas son muy amplias y confortables. Las ventanas de mi oficina tienen vista hacia el jardín central que se encuentra en medio de los edificios que conforman la manzana. Esta es una gran plaza donde siempre hay muchas personas ya que aquí se encuentran varias agencias de viaje, cafeterías, tiendas, cajeros automáticos, y las oficinas comerciales de Etecsa. La vista siempre es agradable, corre una rica brisa ya que este lugar está siempre a la sombra. Hay también varias parcelas de tierra con diferentes plantas ornamentales, hasta palmas reales.
The main attraction of the place is a herd of elephants. There are several metal sculptures of different sizes that attract the attention of all visitors. You can always see people taking pictures and children playing among them. For me it is something common to see this herd every day, but those who come for the first time are always amazed, especially by the large size of the first two elephants, they are quite amazing, I think they made them life-size.
La atracción principal del lugar es una manada de elefantes. Son varias esculturas de metal de diferentes tamaños que llaman la atención de todos los visitantes. Siempre se puede ver a personas tomándose fotografías y a los niños jugar entre ellos. Para mi es algo común ver esta manada a diario, pero los que vienen por primera vez siempre se asombran, sobre todo por el gran tamaño de los dos primeros elefantes, son bastante asombrosos, yo creo que los hicieron a tamaño real.
