Rich in Health, rich in fruits, and rich in vegetables - in short, we are filthy RICH! Can you only consider yourself rich with money? How about if you have a garden full of fruits and vegetables that are rich in Vitamins? Imagine that you don't have to spend a dollar so that you can eat those. Now that's what I call filthy rich. Would you agree?
Last Sunday, I woke up feeling good until Mommy F greeted me with not-so appealing news. She surprised me that morning by saying that we would go visit Aunt Velyn's house again. I really hate surprises, especially when I am not prepared and then all of a sudden they will inform me of going somewhere. I even have my own plan for that day, but then I just feel annoyed at first. I just let out a deep sigh, and after that, I just said, "Okay." I mean, there's no use in stressing myself out, and I also thought I should just enjoy that visit again.
We usually wake up at 5:30, and by 6, the store is already open. But we didn't open the store that day because of this plan. Exactly at 6:27 a.m., we are already out to buy a whole roasted chicken that we will bring with us to Aunt Velyn's house. Of course, since we are the ones who will visit there, it is only right to bring food for later.
Look at her, counting the money without a care in the world. We are just waiting for the roasted chicken to be cooked at that time. Mommy F is just preparing the payment. And look at those yummy chickens! The smell is making me hungry. I imagined it paired with garlic rice and a sweet and spicy sauce. Gosh, salivating! Yum, yum!
At 7:32, we are finally ready for a short trip. As usual, we rented Mr. Pidot's (that's his nickname, lol) tricycle. We also need to bring something with us and deliver it to Aunt Velyn's house, that is why.
Finally! Look at her so happy that she was able to go to Gala again! Clap clap for the outfit, mother, while I didn't even take a bath that morning because I usually take a bath in the afternoon.
Anyways, when we arrived there, the oldies started with their "gossiping," lol. While me, of course, I immediately walk to where I can eat foods, lol, in the backyard yay, in Aunt Velyn's garden, lol. Can you see that? I'm eating them, freshly picked from the tree. And it's so sweet, so delicious, and so refreshing. I really love it.
While they are busy talking, here I am filling my stomach with these sweet blessings from the Rambutan Tree. This is also the reason why I didn't choose violence that day. I mean, this is a pretty good reason not to get mad, you know, lol.
The tree was in full bloom with those bright colored rambutans, ready to be harvested anytime. I get a bag inside the house to put those I harvested that time. I couldn't take a picture of it, but there are a lot of them, it is a big bag, mind you. I think I harvested more than 3 kilos of Rambutan.
So, I decided to rest for a minute while harvesting the Rambutan because, as you can see, it was really hot at that time. Then this Moringa Tree caught my attention. It is bearing fruit right now. I mean, should I call it veggies? We love to mix Moringa Fruit in a dish, we will cut them into four, peel the skin, and then cook them.
Have you ever tried this before? If not, you should also try it. Anyways, the fruit of it is kind of old now, it cannot be cooked now. I think it's best to just plant the seed of it. I'm not sure how it works, but we can't cook this now. Some of it is just falling to the ground.
And look what I saw just below this Moringa tree hugging its body, it is called Bitter Melon according to Google. It is like a bitter gourd, but a smaller version of it. This one can easily grow in your yard. I remember that Mom would just throw a seed of it in the ground, and just a few days later, you could already see it growing. But when you plant them in your yard and they grow bigger, it will really look like a forest full of grass. So Mom just decided to remove them. But Aunt Velyn has a little of that in her garden. I only saw three of it in there.
I decided to take a walk more, the heat is just too hot, so I want to change positions. Then I saw a bunch of chilis, I think she has a tree of them in a different direction. It looks pretty and red, and I want to harvest some of them too because I want to put them in vinegar, it is a good dip for any roasted food, or in lumpiang shanghai but then I don't have gloves with me, so I decided not to do it. Maybe next time.
On the other side, I also saw these plant here. There's a lot of them just between the tree of the Banana. It's Oregano, we have them too before in our own backyard, they can grow easily too. I don't know why Mom remove them. But well, we can just plant them again. And can you see that insect on top it? I don't know the name but it look like a big mosquito, lol.
After taking these photo, I decided to rest and shield myself at the back of the kitchen from Mr. Sunny then I saw this Cat, looks like she is sunbathing, lol. She can't even open her eyes because of the sunlight, lol. What a cutie, lol. I'm calling her but she a snob, lol.
I am still busy in my own world when my oldies call me. They decided to harvest more rambutan and join the fun of eating it here. It is good bonding too, like we are all just kids having our precious moments like this. It is fun and awesome.
Look at my Mommy F, so happy with the Rambutan she picked, lol. The redder the Rambutan is, the sweeter it is. She just picked them, lol. They didn't stay there longer, though, as you can see in the picture, it was really hot at that time. My oldies can't take the hot weather, so after stuffing their stomach with rambutans, they left.
That day was a tiring but happy day, a lot had happened. We all enjoy it, the talk, the walk outside, harvesting those fruits together, and the eating time. I thought everything would end well that day. But something happened that required Mommy D to visit the hospital again. It is the same problem, it is her stomach. She ate a lot of rambutan that day, so maybe it had a hard time processing all those foods inside her belly.
She's been enduring the stomach ache for more than an hour.In the end, she decided to check herself into the hospital because the pain had become unbearable for her. She just asked the doctor for some medicine because she didn't want to stay in the hospital. Lucky for her, the pain subsided with the medicine. But she didn't go home that day, only me and Mommy F went home that day. She stays with Aunt Velyn in their house, to spent the night there.
Seriously! What a day!
