My entry for the #wednesdaywalk community, as hosted by @tattodjay.
Today's morning walk featured plenty of green (much needed and FINALLY abound in the are) and bird sounds. I used to go for walks in the morning with earbuds to listen to podcasts on UFOs, Gnosticism, or some other esoteric topic...but I haven't resorted to that for quite some time. Why bother, when the sounds of life is buzzing around you when you immense yourself into nature?
This walk is a favorite trail for me. To get a solid hike/heart workout in, one has to climb up these stone stairs first (old rocks from the quarry that was this area over 100 years ago...)
Next, a pass by an old limestone cropping/overhang...
A few more switchbacks and the green starts to get a bit more dense...there is Hedgehog bluff, again...
Then, a few more switch backs to make one down the bluff and back to civilization.
Finally, back to the base of the bluff.
I know I've mentioned how lucky I am to have a swamp so close to me...and honestly, to have these woodlands less than a five minute walk away from our home...well, we are fortunate indeed! Sometimes, I feel guilty we have so many amazing places nearby. Sure, it's not 70F year round and sunny, but I'll take it every day.
Thanks for checking out my #wednesdaywalk share. I hope to have another batch of photographs to share next week as spring continues to improve in this part of the world. Hoping everyone else had a wonderful Wednesday too!
