It is time for a gloomy walk for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
We had cold weather then warm weather and during the transition there was a full day of thick fog everywhere. My wife loves this kind of weather so we went out for a long walk in the forest.
I also like this weather because it can bring out interesting mushrooms. I was hoping to find winter mushrooms but sadly none were out. These turkeytails were out as usual soaking up the wet weather.
Little droplets were covering everything, they almost look like glass Christmas ornaments.
My daughter was having fun playing in the mud and exploring raccoon dens. Eventually the gray weather put her to sleep and we had to push the stroller for miles in the forest lol.
Some nice notes of green were out in the gloom. This looks like a patch of lichens just starting to grow.
The squirrels weren't cooperating with me and all I got was this one's tail.
The moss gets kind of neon looking in the gloom when it has had a chance to soak up some rain.
Here's a bit of orange crust fungi that stood out brightly in the tan surroundings.
A bunch of cardinals and a red bellied woodpecker were eating something in the path. Probably water logged earthworms. Sadly they all flew away before I could get some closer clear shots.
I didn't see much other wildlife other than these two photographers. Or maybe one is a photographer who dragged his wife out in the fog so she could take pictures of him taking pictures lol.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
