A train journey can be a unique and memorable experience that combines the beauty of nature, the thrill of exploration, and the warmth of human connection. Some say that train travel is a more comprehensive way to travel than by air or road because we can enjoy the scenery, and it's a sociable experience where you can meet new people. Recently, after a long time I travel.in a sleeper birth on Indian railway. What I noticed is that the people were more socilable Herr than AC coaches. The environment and vibes are completelly differrnt. It was some enjoyable time that I spent exploring the differrnt possibilities.
Indian railway is one of the biggest railway network of the world. They operate for frieght and passenger cariagge. The passenger travel are more in India, as people often like to cover long distances due to cheaper cost involved. Trains are comfortable, with ample foot room and sleeping berths. The train offers 3 coaches, Firstly AC coaches, than sleeper reservation coaches and then the general coaches. AC coaches are mostly closed windows tonorevent outside temperature affecting the AC cooling. Now as the temperature is normal, I decided to travel in a non AC coaches. I managed a sleeper ticket, where the traveller can get a sleeping birth and there are open windows to explore the outside scenery. I was welcomes by a Sikh couple who seems to enjoy each other company. They keep chatting among them and also bought a lot of eating stuffs with them.
Finding them eating in multiple breaks, I too fell hungry. I never tried train meals ever in my journey. I alwsys prefer to carry my own tiffin whenever goes out for travel. But this time, I give a go at the train lunch. There is alwsys a mix opinion about train food. It does not tastes better and also no enough to make your stomach full. I ordered a veg meal for lunch. In an hour I was served with my lunch packages.
I was more curious to know what it all contains. Also I was doubtful about it tastes. The packaged lunch has 3 chapati, some boiled rice, Lentils, peas and paneer and one other vegetable combined with a sachet of pickle and a piece of sweet. The packet has a wooden spoon for eating.
I was bit confused about the taste, but was hungry so I ate them without wondering much about the quality. But at the end the sweet piece made rhe most of my meals. It taste better, overall it was not as bad as it was considered. I can rate it 6/10 for taste and quantity. It was enough for a single person. As the times goes on, our train halted at a station. The stoppages was for 30 min. So I went for a short walk in the platform. The vibes at the platform is alwsys buzzing. While there were people everywhere the vendors too selling some snacks.
Travelling in Indian train always bring an unique blend of people and culture. We can easily make new friends with other passengers. We can read, listen to music, or watch videos. But once the right approaches everyone goes to sleep in their respective reservation. For those who unable to secure a birth, they lie around near the lower birth area. The ticket collector do check with them, buy having no reservation is not their fault. You never know the reason the person is made to travel. At night I saw many peiple lying in the floor to take a nap.
In my opinion, train alwsys gives an oppurtunity to see life from differrnt perspective. Train travel can be a chance to slow down, unwind, and immerse yourself in the journey. It depends how person accept their journey condition. For me it is alwsys overwhelming.
