This week's weather was bound to be cold and rainy with no relief in sight. I decided to take my camera a go for a ride around the area and capture some of the late-fall landscape.
Even though the leaves on the trees this year have not been too colorful, I still wanted to capture what I could to share with you.
My first stop was a park about two miles from my home. It has two large ponds and a mile-long, paved walkway that goes around the entire park. It is such a nice place to take your dog for a nice #walkabout and there are resting areas with exercise stations that focus on different muscle groups. So all in all, it is a great place for a little outing on a nice day.
I love just sitting on one of the benches just to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
All summer long you could see people using the pavilion for family gatherings.
Leaving the park, I took a long drive down one of the country roads to get some more photos.
As you can see many of the trees are already losing their leaves.
When I was taking the above photo this young vulture flew into the tree nearby. It was a ways off but I tried my best to get a clear photo of him.
We are surrounded by a lot of farmland in our area and can often see the soybeans and cornfields everywhere. The hillside beyond the cornfield has mostly golden leaves with little red or orange.
It is still a pretty scene with all the golden trees on this sunny day. I was glad that I finally took time out of my busy day to take a drive about town.
I had to say hello to a couple of horses on this farm since I was there anyway.
Seriously, who could resist this cute little guy. I just had to love him up before I left.
Look at how beautiful this tree is alongside the roadway. I had to pull into a driveway just to take a picture of it.
The forest floor is covered with fallen leaves and it really looks so serene. I really wanted to take a stroll up the hill but I'm still nurturing an injured knee. Perhaps next year I will be able to walk through the woods and enjoy being in such a peaceful setting.
Thank you @tattoodjay for this fun, weekly #wednesdaywalk posting community.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
