Hello Hello Hivians
It's Wednesday and the weather has been gorgeously sunny and a cool 24C which is just about the right temperature I would say. If I had that each day of the year I would be a happy chappy!
Talking of happy chappies, I came across some more on my walk this afternoon.
Today is more about the finds than the park itself
We are kicking off with the modified peace memorial. They ripped up the bushes that were here and were a hit with loads of bees, to be replaced with a handful of poxy flowers!
Beveridge Park Peace Memorial
This is the park where Charles and Camilla landed in their helicopter last week as part of their visit to our wee toon!
Look around you on a walk ...
This mushroom looks like it has been used as a golf ball from outer space as beat up as it looks!
There was another one standing tall and proud that managed to shove the discarded plastic aside.
note that plastic is now residing in a bin in the park.
Feeding Time
Some of you will know that I use some of my Hive rewards to buy bird and animal food the birds and animals in this park.
Being that it is only a five minute walk I feel it is the least I can do.
Do you see this sign around the pond, there are two of them ...
Clearly states
NO FISHING
Q What did we see today?
A This fcuking fish lure
Not only should the arseholes not be fishing, that hook could injure a bird, one of the many dogs that run around in the grass, or a wee bairn!
The coot was not amused!
Do you know that these coots are the most feared birds on the pond. They defend their territory and will go after seagulls without batting an eyelid...
See it's beak? It's fluffing sharp, unlike a duck's bill and they use it like a wee dagger when needed!
Mum feeding the wee ones...
One thing about coots that is cute is the adult will hold food in it's beak and give it to it's young.
Look at this mamma she has two little duck and swan food pellets in her mouth and she will hand beak feed to the little one beside her!
Getting paid for good work!
Who am I kidding, I turned around and found this 20 pence piece on the ground.
Well why not and into my pocket it went!
Now it was the turn of the Scout.
With Mrs T's Native American blood in her, I call her the Scout as she has a great eye for spotting things...
First up ... Nipples
She calls these pointy mushrooms like that Nipples from the ground!
I have to point out that these three photographs were all captured within about a 2 yard radius!
Ladybird or Ladybug?
We say Ladybird, what do you say?
I think bugs are generally not fun and good, so I prefer the Ladybird name to Ladybug!
The wee King himself the humble bumblebee
They love clover and really get to work, not even bothered by my interloping!
The last find of the day!
A whale!
It could almost be the @ecency whale ... What do you think?
Personally I took it as a lucky omen from the Scout as it is her birthday tomorrow!
I hope you had fun looking at our wee finds for the day!
This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay
Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated. Note images are all snapped by me with my Google Pixel 9 XL Pro smartphone on Wednesday July 2nd 2025 and some were used in canva to make the lead image.
