Happy Holidays everyone, and may the NEW YEAR bring in PEACE OF MIND for us all!
I've been hanging in the house lately, taking care of business. With things getting better every day, it was time to clear my head and get in a little exercise in the process.
@farm-mom and I took a short walk around the property.

Our game plan was to walk up the road and exit stage left, which would take us back into the plantation. By the time I reached the end of the driveway, the cobwebs of inactivity were already being blown away.

We weren't out the driveway 50 feet when I pointed out that some branches had fallen on a young pine. Gently complaining about not being able to just dive right in there and remove the deadwood, my better half said, I got this!.

While making our way up the dirt road, a few things caught my eye.
This time of year you usually don't see this type of earthworm activity at the surface.
During the spring and summer, after a rainstorm, we look for these conditions and #nature supplies our bait for fishing.
We noticed a few more holes in the old maple trees, made by one of our #featheredfriends, the Pileated Woodpecker who visits.

More of nature's beauty catches my eye. Things are so different this time of year.

This well-needed walk around the property stirred many emotions as I started to feel more like myself. The grill and firepit that had been left behind from the party, reminded me of that special evening we shared 4 months ago.
For Jackie O'Silver's birthday, I had big plans. The plans were carried out over two days, trying to make it a complete surprise. A few gifts, candlelight dining including appetizers, a bottle or so of red wine, a campfire, and lots of blankets to spread around with hopes of having a clear night sky, was planned.
Every time, a little something will catch my eye or my imagination.
On this day, this well-traveled route put a little jump in my step and peace between my ears.
What a splendid walk it was.
I knew, upon returning from this simple outing, things were looking up.

Thanks @tattoodjay for initiating #wednesdaywalk.
